Analysis of how reality shows become popular among the youth audience - Splitsvilla Introduction: MTV Splitsvilla, literally a ‘villa’ where girls and boys come together to play a game of ‘love’ and try to secure their place in the villa. It is also a hunt for ‘love’ because the contestants on the show have to mingle with each other. The better the popularity with other contestants, the better the chance of securing their place in the villa. Through a rollercoaster of fights, jealousy, hatred, friendship, backstabbing and love, this show attracts audiences by way of controversies and couple-making, the show manages to gain appeal from the young audiences. Depending on the answer given, the judges access which contestant they prefer. Some contestants could perform skills which they possess like singing and dancing.
