Winter is the time for comfort, for good food, warmth and for a talk beside the fire; it is the time for home. During the season the most comforting thing that can be found in each and every house is blanket. You can have cushions, rugs, pillows and all other means of home furnishings but it is the blanket that wins the heart every time. It is this that explains the comfort we feel when we rest in bed at night, protected from the evil thoughts at the back of our minds. Everything about it spreads out comfort, from the smooth feel of the threads crossing over each other to its clean scent of familiarity.
A blanket is a large piece of woven cloth, purposely used to keep you warm, especially while sleeping or lying down. A blanket traps the radiant heat from the user's body and instead of dispersing into the air, it keeps you warm. It is true that during the chilled winter nights the fun of lying down in a cozy bed with your blanket over and a cup of coffee in hand is unexplainable. The relaxing feeling carries away all the worries. There are many types of blankets as summarized below but each is different in terms of thickness, construction and fill material.

Just like lying the effects of blankets are only temporary and false. In reality, a blanket cannot protect one from danger and lying cannot protect others from pain. Lying has many uses. One of the most common uses is represented in this quote and that is using it to improve your experiences socializing, but what the quote doesn't tell you about is the caliber of detrimental effects lying can have on people. Lying while socializing with others can cause people to believe in false companionship and or relationship.

Why do you want to participate in the Bridges Summer Program? Participating in the Bridges Summer Program will help me greatly in the transition between high school and college. Reading about the program I have learned that this program is meant to help students transition to a college-level work environment and I know that I need this type of help. The good thing about this program is that they help students individually and this way students will have a better chance at really being prepared to start college in the fall.
