Throughout playing tennis for Creekside Middle School, I have faced lots of success. I played varsity all three years there, and during my sixth grade year, helped my team win the annual county tournament between middle schools. Though I was successful for many of my matches, I did met with failure at times. One of these times would be in my seventh grade year, when my doubles partner and I had lost in the final round of the tournament. This defeat would be one of the reasons that led the Creekside tennis team placing outside of the top three at the county tournament.

“If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven’t done anything today.” – Lou Holtz. This has always been my mindset from when I was in little league until now. Although, I have faced some adversity along the way, this quote always pushes me to do better and better each and every day.
One lesson I have learned about family is small towns bring you closer together. All my immediate family lives in Schenectady. Being so close to them has made Schenectady like a second home to me. Some of the fondest memories of my childhood include sleeping over my aunts apartment, walking to the park at the school near her, and running outside to catch the ice cream truck. Having family so close by and being from a place where the town and city basically overlap has caused me to form tight bonds with my family members. Something else I have learned is to always surround yourself with positive people. The people who constantly complain about living in Rotterdam are the worst. Yes, we all know it is awful but being constantly reminded about
Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is an option. At some points in my life I’ve hated the sport of wrestling. At other I’ve never loved anything more. All in all, wrestling has taught me a lot about myself. When i placed at the state tournament, I learned that no matter where someone comes from they can do big things, if they have the right mindset and the determination.
On Saturday October 17th I attended the field hockey game at Siena College. The Saints were up against Bryant. I had never seen a field hockey game before that day, and I was not sure if I would enjoy watching it or not. I play on the lacrosse team here at Siena College, so I thought it was important to support another team from the school. The game started out with a goal from Siena, and then soon after it was Bryant. Siena then scored another goal, and Bryant did the same. With the score tied at the end of the game, it went into overtime. What I learned, was that it did not matter how much time was left in the overtime of the game; the first person to score wins the game. Siena scored the winning goal, and won the whole game. It was an amazing
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. The shrill beep of my alarm clock roused me from my peaceful sleep. I turned my head to get a better look at my clock, it reads 4:30. “ Uuuhhh this is too early.” Groggily, I hopped out of bed and grab my uniform from the hook and take a quick shower to help wake myself up. I grabbed a bowl and spoon from the cupboard in the kitchen and pour myself a bowl of cereal. Hastily i wolfed it down and headed down to grab my bags. My dad was waiting by the back door, we head out to the car and are soon pulling onto the deserted streets. We arrive at Seatac airport quickly and began to look for the group I would be travelling with. As we were walking we meet up with another person who would be traveling with us. He is dressed the same as i was, grey cargo shorts a green button down and a sash. Finally I spotted a large group of people gathered near baggage check. I say good bye to my father and we exchange a quick hug, after that it is all hello’s and handshakes.
