Have you ever thought about what your everyday life would be like without climate change? Climate change is the changing of normal weather patterns, causing extreme weather and natural disaster. It is affecting the countries in the global south, but will eventually reach the global north. We have a few different ways of tackling this issue. One of them is having the old emitters pay, and that means making the ones that originally polluted pay for everyone else. Another choice is having everyone pay, which means that everyone will be responsible for it. The last choice is not to focus on it at all, and to tacklebit when all the undeveloped countries are developed, and when they are ready to fight it. Climate change is a pressing global issue, therefore it requires a coordinated global effort that needs support, and help from every country to combat it. A fair international system should create mandatory restrictions on the use of fossil fuels for all countries. This is evident because , “Rapidly developing industrial powers in the global South are already contributing large percentages of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. Even though historical emitters in the global North certainly deserve some blame for global climate change, China now currently emits more greenhouse gases than any country in the world.” Another reason for why we should all cut our emissions is that China and India are not the only ones that will develop. “Many other countries are likely to greatly increase their greenhouse gas emissions as they, too, continue to develop and industrialize.” This plethora of evidence surely shows that we must start working on this problem
