I agree with the article “U.S. Schools Expelled 8,000 Chinese Students”, that many Chinese students have the cheating problems during their abroad years. The reason causes them have those problems is the difference between different education systems. Many Chinese students might over use the same words or information from others, which is plagiarism for American education system, but it’s ok for Chinese education system. In addition, some Chinese students might don’t know about how to use citation and quotation in the writing, it will cause them plagiarize in the writing assignments. After reading article about the cheating problems among the Chinese students, knowing American education system is a way to avoid the problem. Some student might haven’t notice …show more content…
Language is another difficulty for Chinese students during their studying in America, because of that many Chinese students might not understand well about the class they are taking. Some Chinese students use to ask their Chinese classmates about the part they could not understand about, some even ask the questions for understanding during the tests, which cause them be expelled by their cheating problems. Therefore, international students, not just Chinese students, should ask questions directly to their professors if they are confusing of their courses and assignments, and students should be familiar with the rules they should follow with in the American colleges. Among the Chinese students who were expelled by their school because of their cheating problems, some of them might don’t have a right attitude of studying in America. Some of Chinese students study abroad because they think they would be more freedom than they study in China, and without their parents around them, some of Chinese students don’t put study in the first place as a
The nature of cheating originates from the common misconception of helping others and a student’s lack of self-confidence. Plagiarism, not so different from cheating, disperses from the broad range of information on today’s technology. Through an authentic study, it has been revealed that teachers have established many students who have cheated their way through complexed assignments. Even misleading students who have kept a high grade point average has been found as participants of academic dishonesty. Today, professors seek to find different measures that should be taken to decrease cheating and plagiarism.
During the 1800s, many Chinese immigrants entered America to seek substantial economic wealth and a prosperous life. The first surge of Chinese immigration occurred in 1848 at Sutter’s Mill, California when gold was discovered. Since then, many Chinese immigrants entered the American workforce, and the Americans despised the fact that these incoming immigrants were taking “their jobs”. In the year 1882, the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed by Congress to limit the amount of Chinese Immigrants entering the country. There are many factors that contributed to the passing of the Chinese Exclusion Act; however the most influential factors included the prevention of economic competition, Chinese persecution, and discrimination.
Student’s value their social lives and professors value their work. This is not to be said that students do not care about their education and classes, students do try to get good grades, but will do the minimum to attain it. For this exact reason cheating to get ahead is extremely
As someone with immigrant Asian parents, I’m glad my parents get to seek the opportunity to get a good-paying job and a house. Unfortunately, during Reconstruction and the Gilded Age, Chinese immigrants were gratefully hurt when the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed. This act banned Chinese immigrants from entering the U.S. for 10 years. As white Americans think this will benefit them in any way, this act came with many downsides. These acts caused a huge impact on the US economy, created a gateway to more exclusionary policies, and fueled xenophobia and racism towards Asians and other minorities.
My lazy American students by Kara Miller, address her experience and her opinion about American students. Kara takes a position when analyzing how she views American students comparing to international students. Kara explains and show different experiences she had with different American and International students to justify her argument about how lazy are American students. Although she gives a unique argument about her believes but I don’t agree with her believes. Kara believe that all international students are better than most of American students.
In the United States, using the term “model minority” to describe Asian Americans does not negate the fact that they are still a minority who deal with the same hardships and discrimination as other minorities. Issues such as these are undeniably in the school systems that are inhabited by large numbers of these students with Asian backgrounds. They are exemplified by the bipolar historical treatment of Asian Americans, the numbers that matter in education today, and in the problems created and overcome by the people that face them. Sifting through the dark and difficult history leads to the light on the other side of a tunnel where there can be found methods and solutions to create success for the Asian American people. The first thing to

“ A number of colleges have found effective ways to reduce cheating and plagiarism “ It is only successful if they know how to use it properly. This is done by implanting honor codes strictly, having an appropriate consequences if broke the rules. This makes the student’s lives a lot easier, it´s one thing less to worry about. Well, it is common to think of learning as something that takes place in school, for some people learning is more than sitting in a classroom listening to what teacher has to say. One of the big problems in the United States is that high school student is more stressed than ever before. The school system in the United States is also based on freedom of choice. As an exchange student, English and American history are the only compulsory subjects. Well, one of the biggest advantages of the American school system is the great flexibility.
The adapting to a western education system requires students, who received over 12 years traditional Chinese education, to use their transferable learning skills within a totally different teaching and learning style. At the beginning, I was faced with difficulties because of many differences in assessment system, attitudes towards answers, student-teacher relationship, and degree of participation. Although the first year of the university is about foundational modules for academic writing, presentations and research, I think the learning would have been more effective if the university had provided students with relevant courses in cross-cultural
I remember some classmates, cheating back in high school. Throughout my entire educational career, I have experienced meeting a lot of cheaters. Plagiarism is considered a form of cheating. The punishment has changed from a zero grade to expulsion. A lot of students who cheat, are only fooling themselves.

This articles made mention of how angry victim may confront the participant who stole their ideas. They also made mention of the fact that most ideas were used with or without their knowledge intentionally and unintentionally in some situations but they never pointed out that plagiarism as students destroys their professional refutation if they want to become big business men and women in the future.
