UT Austin is one of the top research schools in the nation. The University of Southern California is a private school located in Los Angeles, California. At University of Texas at Austin, their mascot are the longhorns. The longhorns represent that UT Austin is courageous, never giving up, and competitive. While, University of Southern California’s mascot is the trojan. It is one of the most well-known college mascots. In addition, University of Southern California is in the PAC-12 conference for sports. However, University of Texas at Austin is in the Big 12 conference. The similarity between the two schools is they are both in the NCAA Division 1; the difference is the two schools are are not in the same conference due to the fact that they are located in different areas. Moreover, University of Texas at Austin school colors are burnt orange and white. According to the article “Changing Colors: The History of Burnt Orange and White,” “In fact, during the first football game, the team wore gold and white.” This shows that the school did not start with an official color, but however, wore different colors to see what would best fit the school. On the other hand, University of Southern California school colors are gold and cardinal. According to the article, “USC Traditions,” “Before 1895, USC’s official color was gold, and the College of Liberal Arts had its own color- cardinal.” This shows that they combined the two colors together to have an official school color. The sports programs are a vital fundamental in universities as they bring attention and fame to them. Every university is best in a different sport and some even play a sport that others don 't have an interest in like Polo. There is another thing that is important to the sports program which is the mascot. The mascot is the face of the school like how the Texas Tech is the "masked raider"(Texas Tech, Masked Raider) or like how Sam Houston is the "bearcat"(Sam Houston, Mascot). Texas Tech is most famously known for their "Olympic sport in Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, and Track & Field" (Texas Tech, Olympic sports).

During this tournament, or so called "March Madness," teams play games throughout the month of March with a "survive and advance strategy. " This madness forces teams to leave it all on the line, as they fight for survival one game at to be crowned national champion. Alongside Texas State University Contrary to popular belief, Texas State isn’t all of what the stereotypes claims it is. The stereotypes associated with Texas State such as being a party school, not being intensive, and being composed of a nonchalant student body attribute to a “second class” standard when compared to other schools such as University of Texas and Texas A&M University. How often in the 60’s would we you have the minority of white people on a basketball team? That's what we had happed during the movie Glory Road. We followed a coach who made a team who he thought would win with. We saw them getting crap for the color of the boys on his team.
