These rules apply to day to day interactions with everyone in the facility including the patients, families, other health care providers and the public. In much long-term care facility, the compliance of the ethical code of conduct is a condition of employment and those who are found guilty of violating the regulations are severely disciplined and in worst cases terminated. Long-term care facility employs several corrective measures to discipline violators of the code of conduct. Some of the remedial measures include providing additional training for the offender, written warning, and refunding overpayments in cases of billing violations. The disciplining of employees who violate the code of conduct is based on the type of conduct being violated
There are many stakeholders involved with health care administrations. Those stakeholders can be patients, health care physician, insurance providers, pharmaceutical manufactures, hospital organizations, community clinics and government. Each different stakeholder has their own individual vision of health care administration. This causes conflict due to the nature and differences in vision. which then can cause conflicts among each stakeholder involved.
Explain what is meant by the term of 'duty of care': Duty of care is when we must follow the correct policies and procedures in order to protect and safeguard children from any harm. This means that we have a respnsibility to do daily health and safety checks on all equipment that children are likely to use encase any of it is broken, we must carry our risk assessments in order to make sure that all work areas and play areas are safe for children to use and also most importantly we must carry out fire drills so that children are familiar with the sound of the fire alarm, aware on where they have to go in order to reach safety and what they have to do. Duty of care is the ability to always act and have the best intentions of the service user and other people that may be affected by your actions. This is a legal requirement to protect the people using the services. This is knowing your limits and not acting in a way that can cause harm or danger to anyone else. Merryvale Residence doesn’t show a duty of care because although they only provide support for 10 people they are still lacking staff and are under the legal limit which means they are breaking the law. Cherry Trees Children’s Centre have failed to show a duty of care by allowing volunteers to look after the children without knowing the emergency evacuation and the fire doors also often being locked.
Task one: P1. For P1, I will be writing a short report based on a placement that I have done at River Glade house which is a small residential home for 10 older people which have some sort of physical or mental impairment now in my report I will include 6 Potential hazards which are 2 Health hazards, 2 Safety hazards and 2 Security hazards that may arise in a health and social care setting. Health Hazards: A health hazard is an incident or injury leading to an illness.
I am responsible to the families by providing culturally sensitive care. Every family is unique in its own way, as a nurse I must respect what is important or meaningful to the family. Furthermore, I will try to identify the strengths of the family and beliefs of the family and will try to incorporate them into the plan of care.
