In todays modern society, people are, liked or not, pretty much determined by their work place. One of the first and inevitable questions asked by the people we do not know is, "What is your profession?", or, ' 'Where do you work? ' ' Ever wonder how unemployed person feels? Especially when is confronted with those types of questions? Besides the obvious shortcomings and scarcity in social and economic terms, we forget that the health of a person without a job is very threatened. Poor health, especially mental health is deteriorating dramatically in today 's society, and unemployment is one of the most important factors that contribute to this devastating fact. When we look at unemployment in this context it is clear that the scale of this problem is much greater than it at first seems. How to live with unemployment? There are many studies that lead to the close relationship of unemployment and a low sense of self-confidence. Individuals lose their social status with the loss of a job. If you have low self-esteem, you will not easily take up on the new things and you will be more prone to avoiding situations that present a challenge in any form. Whether it is about education, establish new contacts or career change. By avoiding, person builds a wall and create a sense of security because feel protected from challenges. The longer the period, the higher the wall. In the long run, this avoidance it can adversely affect the self-confidence because basically it supports, but also, gives power, to doubts and fears. This can be harmful for the mental health and lead to problems such as depression or anxiety. You can also develop wasteful habits such as smoking and increased alcohol intake, like ways to cope with difficult situation. Unemployment among young people adversely affect their view of life. And can be reflected on society in increased risk of crime and other forms of antisocial behavior. The ways in which people cope with unemployment varies from person to person. Strategies to cope with life events are based on the belief that we have control over the situation. To achieve that sense of control, you need to believe in your own abilities and skills. We need self-confidence and belief that we can do something for ourselves. If a person believes that it’s able to deal with a given situation, the posibility for the positive outcome is much grater and much easier achivable, unlike, when person does not believe in herself and her own abilities and power to turn the things around.
