Abstract
This paper talks about the unemployment rate in Albania over the past years as a problem, what unemployment is, and what we can do to solve this problem. Albania is a country under development but still lacks in some economics fields such as unemployment. Charts and tables with data from different institutions in Albania have shown us that unemployment is a phenomenon present in every country, but in Albania, it is increasing day by day. Unemployment exists in every country in the world. This phenomenon can happen for a lot of different reasons which can be political, cultural, economic etc. Mainly this happens in poor countries or countries that are under development. Albania is one of these countries and the population of it has suffered from this phenomenon. High unemployment is both an economic and social problem. It is an economic problem because represents the waste of resources that are valuable. To sum up, although Albania recently has had an economic growth it is still one of the countries with the highest rate of unemployment. This rate has been changing over years and certainly, it has been reducing. In 2009 this rate was 12.5%. it is not a low level, but anyway is the lowest level Albania has ever had in the last 10 years. This value matches the inflation rate which was 3.4% in 2009. In comparison with the other countries of Europe, it is ranked the 6th, not a good value, but it has been improving during years by being aware of the factors and improving the country with the solutions given to decrease the level of unemployment.

For my survey project, I chose to talk about whether or not it is a good idea to raise the minimum wage. My goal for my research is to prove that it is a bad idea to raise it. While it is convenient for minimum waged workers to get paid more, it would not be for the rest of us. It would result in everything becoming more expensive. My main focus is on keeping the minimum wage at its current value, nine dollars.

This paper aims to analyze the effects of minimum wage on equality and unemployment from various perspectives. First of all, theories from welfare economics have been used to explain the effects of minimum wage of equality and unemployment.
