Title: The Effect of Healthy versus Unhealthy Parental Involvement in students’ Education!
Description: Parents have a great role in motivating students in their educational activities. They should know how to guide their kids in their homework with limited involvement on their part. They should also be aware of the healthy ways in which they can manage their kids’ education.

Helping kids in their education is natural on the part of parents. Most of the parents deem it as a duty to help their kids do homework and study for exams. Parents should know how and to what extent they can involve themselves in their kids ‘educational activities. If they involve themselves beyond a certain level in their kids’ education, they may not achieve the results as desired by them and may cause negative impact upon their kids’ attitude to studies.

Healthy versus unhealthy ways of parental involvement in their kids’ education
Parents can follow certain healthy ways for guiding their kids in their education. They can read on to know the unhealthy ways to be avoided by them while helping their kids in education.
1. Homework assignments and projects
a) Healthy way: Parents should guide their kids in solving homework problems. They should render moral support to their kids in their educational activities and should encourage them to complete the homework even when the kids find the homework tasks tough and challenging. They can offer educational advice to their kids for understanding concepts and ideas in the subjects. They can seek online tutoring help for leading the kids through the difficult phases of learning. Suppose the kids are not able to complete their assignments, they can avail online assignment help from reliable websites and make their kids understand the concepts through proper expert
One strategy to help parents would be to conduct a workshop, or multiple session workshops, for parents in help them learn how to participate in their children’s learning process. It is also stated that schools must empower parents who may feel “less useful in school work due to lack of formal literacy skills” (Njeru, 2015). Many parents in low SES communities do not have the skills to work with their children at home. Classes should be held in order to teach the skills that parents need. Once parents are given the training that they need they can help their students succeed.
I need to let the child know I care and help them the best I can. If a student is falling asleep in class or skipping homework If I build a relationship with them and their parents I already have an idea on what’s going on and can come up with solutions to try and
‘Health promotion means to have a positive attitude in the setting to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.’ One way children’s well-being can be supported by health promotion in the setting is by snack time. During snack time and lunch in my setting they have health foods which they encourage all children to eat. The setting provides balanced and healthy meals for the children. By giving children healthy meals and snacks it sets a good example and teaches children what they should be eating.
The reason children’s interests in education have plummeted are because of the parents. Barber explains, “And parents will have to be drawn in not just because they have rights or because they are politically potent but because they have responsibilities and their children are unlikely to learn without parental engagement.” (Barber, 2014 p. 217) Parents need to engage with their children. Nowadays kids do their own things, and parents do not care or know about their children’s life.
Today’s parents are making their kids lives much harder! Some people might say it is just natural for some parents to be helicopter parents. The thing is these parents harm their kids school lives, hindering development of life skills, and affecting their college experiences. Overly involved parents can be harmful to students.
Other parents are able to help their children with homework, but without the foundation of knowledge or English proficiency, many Southeast Asian parents are not able to lend a helping hand. The students then must become independent from a young age and work harder than their peers to reach the same levels
Second, the education system benefits from electronic communication to create a two way dialogue via e-mail and texting to parents (giving them the option to sign up) or on-line through programs like Edmodo. Even social media such as Facebook and Twitter are become other ways to create a dialog between parents and the school system. Last, encouraging participation in the school for events programs or activities help other parents and teachers to know one another. The level of commitment helps parents to become more familiar with the school environment, its expectations, with the intention to improve student
Should we get rid of homework? Homework is an ongoing argument between parents and teachers whether it should take it out of the system, or if they should keep it in the system. There has been an enormous amount of research and studies done on if homework helps with academic learning, or if it is just a way to put more stress onto students and teachers. Whether it is good practice at home from what they have learned at school, or a way for parents to see how we are doing at school. Whether it helps us or not it still puts a huge amount of stress on us as the school year goes on and we get more homework.
If someone asked me if I wanted homework, I would give them a negative answer. Homework is something I’ve always never enjoyed doing. My reasons for not having homework are people have other activities, people are getting tired/stressed out, and people have family situations. Think about it, do we really need homework after all the time we spend at school.
All adults in our community have the responsibility to care for every child in our school. Parents are involved in the school through volunteering and talking daily with their children about school. Parents provide a home environment that supports academic skill practice and a positive attitude toward education, as well as a positive attitude toward other people. A caring school community makes a difference in the lives of its children (Reynolds, 2017).
As parents, few decisions hold as much importance as one’s child’s education. From the second they walk out the door to their first day
• Where there are children, investing in the services of a baby sitter for one day per week, can free up the student to focus their energies on the content to be read. This is part of the process of creating a support structure that aids in being able to study
Task 4: List ways families become involved in learning activities at home. The families can help with learning like homework. The families can ask for extra work to help their children learning.
Parents always play the significant role toward their children to teach them since they were born. They basically mold and shape their children into adults through their world of influence (Baumrind, 1971). Parents’ behavior is essential especially during the period of adolescent due to an increase of youth risky performance. Nevertheless, teaching is like a double-edged sword.
Teachers should increase family involvement by using strategies that make parents feel welcome and comfortable in the school setting. My parents value education, but due to the language barrier, they did not to participate in school activities. However, if a teacher makes an effort to speak Spanish, this encouraged parent involvement in school activities. Promoting parents to attend these activities can help students’ academic success.
