Eating healthy snacks in between meals is part of our daily diet. We have them to tame our hunger and to supplement our main meals. But do you know that most people think of unhealthy snacks opions as being healthy?
Food manufacturers market unhealthy snacks in a deceptive way, and many people fall into this trap consuming an increasing amount of these snacks. Food manufacturers load these snacks with different types of sugar and unhealthy fats.
To classify a snack as a healthy one, it should contain a good amount of vitamins, minerals, healthy fat and protein. It should also be low in calories, trans fats, and sugar.

Salted crackers are high in sodium. A serving contains around 200 mg. of sodium. Increased consumption of sodium causes water retention and swelling in the ankles, feet and hands.
You cannot consider crackers as one of the healthy snacks in between meals. The best choice you have is to leave all kind of crackers on the supermarket

First Moss uses solid facts to describe how junk food companies make their food sell. Secondly he proves that he is very knowledgable about the topic of his article, and that he conducted intensive research and interviews to gain the knowledge. Lastly Moss does a good job of making the article interesting by doing things such as providing facts, dialogue, and questions to keep your attention. Moss’ use of solid facts help describe and give the reader insight on the extremes of what junk food companies will go through to sell and make their products desirable.

Freedman found a solution to this problem and as crazy as it may say sound, his answer is Junk Food. Healthy foods and drinks can be expensive and frankly don't taste the best, so the question arises why do people consume them? The answer is easy, people want to consume things that are labeled as healthy because it looks pretty good holding a healthy snack or drink. My brother tends to do snack more. He will come from work and talk about how he did not have enough time to eat so he just went straight to the vending machine to get a bag of Lays. In “What You Eat Is Your Business,” Radley Balko tackles the issue of who is responsible for fighting obesity. Balko argues that the controversy of obesity should make the individual consumers culpable for their own health and not the government (467). As health insurers refrain from increasing premiums for obese and overweight patients, there is a decrease in motivation to keep a healthy lifestyle (Balko 467). As a result, Balko claims these manipulations make the public accountable for everyone else 's health rather than their own (467). Balko continues to discuss the ways to fix the issue such as insurance companies penalizing consumers who make unhealthy food choices and rewarding good ones (468).
My mom buys our groceries, and she has to eat a low sodium diet, so most of the stuff at my house is unsalted, lightly salted, or low sodium. Also my mother makes dinner, and she doesn’t cook with any salt. I usually eat with my family, so most of what I eat does not have much sodium content in it. The cultural influences on my diet might include the fact that portion sizes in our country are much larger than they probably should be. Also, there are less healthy options, and whole grains are not as prevalent.

He opened my eyes to information I wouldn’t have thought about or researched myself. He got into depth about a type of Sara Lee bread that contains way more ingredients than needed to make the bread, including high fructose corn syrup that isn’t good for you.
