Unit 5 Persuasive Speech

I am called Yarrow, by those who know me. Allow me to enter my story for the record. Once every four years, the many nations of planet Foath send forth their greatest athletes to compete against each other in epic showdowns. Over the course of two weeks, the mighty athletes challenge one another in a multitude of events.

Brittney Smith a 17 year old girl who goes to Maplewood High School where she is an honor roll student, a cheerleader, and is the student body president for the Junior classmen. She enjoys spending time with her family, hanging out with her friends, and she make sures that she makes the right decisions for the school. Brittney usually gets along with everyone in the school even the unpopular kids, but there is this one person she doesn’t like or can’t stand to be around. His name is Andre Jones, Andre is the captain of the basketball team and star player. Even though Brittney is around Andre during basketball games, she still refuses to talk to him or go near him.

We gather here today to admire this historic occasion - the peaceful passing of power. Every moment of every day carries a certain weight, each second, transient and singular. With time we have the ability to do great things, to achieve great things. Today marks the start of a new time, a new era, that will allow America to rise to its fullest potential.

Good morning America, I am Marco Rubio, and today I announce my presidential candidacy for the United States. Throughout the years, our country has been through many conflicts and successes, but the reason for this is due to the past leaders. Well we are not in the past anymore. On January 13th, 1982, 79 passengers on the Air Florida Flight 90 crashed into the icy, Potomac River less than a minute after take off. One minute, the passengers were warm and relaxed, sitting in their seats, and the next, they were drowning in the icy Potomac. Air Flight 90’s  death toll of seventy-five people, easily could and should have been prevented, yet as tragic as the event was, some good managed to come out it as well.

It was Halloween night, my three friends Bryce, Zach, and Bailey and I were so excited, it was the 666th Halloween, we had all met up at Bryce’s Brother KY’s house in Donaldson, Arkansas. We had been invited to this Halloween party in down town Malvern on the train tracks by ACME Brick. So we called Bailey’s sister Megan because she lives beside KY’s house and KY and his Fiancé Megan wouldn’t take us to that part of Malvern because it is one of the worst neighborhoods in Malvern.

Specific Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to motivate my audience by discussing the problems with not exercising regularly, offering solutions to the problems, and showing them different activities that can make exercising enjoyable.
