Until Proven Guilty Adnan is innocent. Simple as that. As stated in the constitution, you are ‘’Innocent until proven guilty”. Adnan was proven guilty under entirely circumstantial evidence and one man’s word that barely checks out. But yet he has spent nearly two decades of his life behind iron and concrete. The testimony and evidence used against Adnan was enough to convict anyone they chose to imprint on. That sadly was a muslim teenager who pulled the short stick. Nowadays, phones are in everyone 's hands. GPS is programed in and every electric movement is documented in hard drives in storage facilities all over the country. IN 1998-1999, cell phones were on the rise. More and more people had them. But, as expected, they weren 't as sophisticated. They could only be tracked when they made a call and it bounced off several towers, the first being the closest. The evidence used against Adnan, his cell phone, in Jay’s procession, had pinged several towers, made a lot of calls. ALong with several versions of Jay’s …show more content…
Student haul their butts to get to their lockers, say goodbye to friends before they finally got to their mode of transport. For Hae that was her car. According to verisan two of Jay’s story, he was Adnan’s ride for most of the day. In order for Hae to actually be dead and in her own trunk in time for the States TOD to be accurate, she (And Adnan) had to be moving with precision and speed to check out with witnesses that saw either of them last. But the state ignored one girl 's testimony. She said she talked to Hae for an extended piece of time, throwing off the race to her murder. Thus contradicting the time when she had to be dead in the back of her trunk at Best Buy. Or was it the BIlliard bar? Where another witness said he say the body. But what about the other witnesses that said she left school right away? Or Jay when he said he picked up Adnan from Best buy. Or was it the
It was later then know that she was strangled to death on January 1999. Now people started to speculate that her killer was none other than her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed. On February 28, 1999 Adnan Syed was arrested for the murder of Hae Min Lee. This was all from the result of Jay's first testimony with the detectives.
Adnan Syed was incarcerated at the age of 17 for the murder of his ex girlfriend Hae Min Lee in 1999. Authorities saw this crime as a crime of passion a simple motive with one important witness Jay Wilds who was the key to Adnan's incarceration. Jay Wilds was interrogated and Adnan was quickly arrested. Seems simple enough if it wasn't for the reason that many think Adnan was wrongly incarcerated. Which brings me back to the main point,I believe Adnan Syed is innocent and that this case has many more sides than the one authorities used to pin this crime on Adnan.
Therefore, Adnan is innocent because he wouldn’t have a reason to kill her if they didn’t
Although many people may not believe it, Adnan Syed is innocent considering the fact that much of what was said in court is practically hearsay and there is very small amounts of evidence that prove that he took the life of Hae Min Lee. When the case was presented in court, there were many errors that the State chose to omit when Adnan was being tried. For instance, much of the evidence was unfathomed and therefore showed that there was next to no physical evidence that linked him to the crime… “No DNA, no fibers, no hairs, no matching soil from
That is one of the strongest arguments against Adnan. Knowing this, we can still confirm Adnan is innocent because looking at Jay’s character, we can see that he’s the type of guy who would call a best friends girl to try to get to know her. This could be one explanation for this
Plea bargain is an ethical issue stated in the documentary Plea bargain. The plea bargain documentary explains how pleading guilty in a plea bargain is a way to get a reduced sentence or get out free of a charge. At times taking the plea bargain might not be the best option but sometimes it’s the only choice. According to the prongs of deontological perspective, pleading guilty is a solution to be let out free, a reduced charge and dismissed a charge off.
Think of life, just really starting for you. You are almost done with High School, but then you get accused of murder. Your life, ruined because of these claims. Not to mention, all from your best friend. How could someone deal with that.
If our judicial system still believes that someone is innocent until proven guilty, then Adnan has to be innocent, because they did not prove him
Convicting the Innocent: Where Criminal Prosecutions Go Wrong In Brandon L. Garrett 's book, Convicting the Innocent: Where Criminal Prosecutions Go Wrong, he makes it very clear how wrongful convictions occur and how these people have spent many years in prison for crimes they never committed. Garrett presents 250 cases of innocent people who were convicted wrongfully because the prosecutors opposed testing the DNA of those convicted. Garrett provided simple statistics such as graphs, percentages, and charts to help the reader understand just how great of an impact this was.
Text Based Response "Witness the Prosecution" by Agatha Christie The short story "The Witness the Prosecution" by Agatha Christie takes place in 1940s-1950s England and tells a mysterious story of a man named Leonard Vole who is on trial for the murder of the elderly and exceedingly wealthy, Miss Emily French. Through the masterful telling of this murder mystery, Christie takes the reader on a journey through the court proceedings, testimony and behaviors of an array of characters, creating a rich story that underscores the sharp irony woven into this piece. It is the irony that creates a surprising and disturbing ending that concludes in quite a different way than what was expected, making this mystery story one that out maneuvers the reader
We believe that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Once proven guilty, a person should receive punishment. This is the purpose of the justice system. The whole rule of double jeopardy defies this, not bringing justice to those who deserve it as it forbids for the accused to be tried again. It will be more beneficial to society as a whole if we abolish double jeopardy, to correct the mistakes of the justice system and essential for progression.
Getting arrested doesn 't get better as time passes. A procedure known as Arraignment is done, in which a suspect need to face a judge following the preliminary booking and holding cell placement. At that time, the judge will hear the charges and definitely will ask the detainee to enter a plea. If it is 'not responsible, ' then there will be a proper trial.

A Hidden Crime “There is a comfort in knowing that you don’t have to pretend anymore, that you are going to do everything within your power to heal.” -Ellen Bass. Family is meant to be our love, support and comfort zone no matter what we go through, unfortunately that's not the case for everyone. I have a close friend along with her younger sisters that feel uncomfortable whenever their uncle visits.
