Communication is everywhere and occurs at any time. However, business communication happens in particular, when people enters the workforce. Recognising the way to converse with peers or anyone superior than them or even their subordinates, is the utmost important element to ensure a successful career in future. Without knowing the business communication skills, people might have bad impression of the person or even find the person disrespectful. Hence, business communication skills are essential for one to have. In this reflection essay, I will be considering the internal communication types, communication styles and communication barriers that a lawyer could take on and faced in the workplace environment.

Hence why clients would turn to lawyers when their problems aggravate into something challenging to solve. In order for lawyers to have that reputation, it is apparent that they are obliged to have a certain communication style. Thus, out of the 4 communication styles, Aggressive, Assertive, Passive-Aggressive and Passive, I would be elaborating on Assertive communication style.
Assertive communication style is the best style out of the other 3 styles for lawyers. The reason to this is that this style displays the person to be confident, positive and hold an encouraging expression of himself. In order for clients to trust and appoint them as their lawyers, it is crucial for lawyers to be responsible, sincere, confident and approachable. The lawyers need to possess these characteristics so that clients will have faith in them and able to help and provide solutions for their problems. I feel that by possessing this style, it helps in enhancing the outlook and strengthen the lawyer’s prestige.

In today’s world, relying on luck and opportunity by chance to elevate your professional career has transgressed into a distant fantasy. Rather, one must self-advocate in order to reach the heights most only aspire to reach. Now, pen and paper does not get you as far as does vocalization. If two people with identical resumes apply to your law firm, but one sweeps you off your feet with their interview question responses while the other shyly responds to your inquiries, who do you hire? Exactly.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.

Civility and Incivility Communication Behavior analyze Defensive and Nondefense Behavior In the workplace, workers communicate with each other’s in different way because of their characteristics and personal problem in life affect behavior in communication. The most common communication I will be comparing and contrast between civility and incivility. Also, this affect the message comes from defensive and nondefense communication. It affects in working environment, the feeling or emotions by proving a real life examples behavior approach in scenarios.

In the business communication, these three factors are described as interpersonal communication, intercultural communication and organizational communication. By handling problems that bring by these factors, the communication within the group will be more efficiency. Initially when I registered for Interpersonal Communications it was solely to fulfill my USEM requirements and I reckoned the class as nothing more than an obstacle. The two key topics in class in the last weeks, for me. Two of the most relevant topics developed in the last weeks were: non-verbal communication and the barriers to communication. Everytime we communicate with another person or group of people, we have to take into account some factors other than what we are actually saying that can affect how the message is going to be received: body language, tone, intonation, facial expressions, and others; this is what we understand for non-verbal communication. As we saw in class “55% of communication is body language, 38% is the tone of voice, and 7% is the actual words spoken.”

Introduction: The process of communicating successfully with our family, friends, co-workers, business associates and people is one of the most critical skills. Communication is such a key part of life that I often tell to a person that “Its no use of someone if he/she really don’t know by associates people in their work place or area of field”. We have lost sight of verbal communication skills. This class has taught me to put my phone down and communicate with others. It has opened my eyes to the real world without technology.
The world we live in today is predominately changing with the advancement of digital communication in the daily aspects of our life. The rapid growth and evolution of digital communication, has resulted in it now becoming the backbone of the way we interact with other people. Beginning from simple 160-character SMS messages to text’s influence on the internet including Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and Instagram and then introduced on our mobile phones with BBM and whatsapp; digital communication has become a part of our spoken discourse. Digital communication in every aspect has impacted our lives as it helps jobs and businesses communicate a lot faster through e-mail, multimedia and texting.

Most people think that writing skills are not essential for effective communication. But that is not the truth.
