The limited land in urban area emerge the tight competition in occupying the suitable land. Even, the basic reason why do slums exist is the limited access to suitable land. More and more, urban land and housing markets are coming under enormous economic competition, and this is driving up the cost of all housing, so that even the most minimal standard of formal-sector housing is unaffordable to the poor. However, only a half who have participation in the community activities due to some personal reasons. It seems that the participatory within community activities should be improved to increase the bonding of the people to their communities. The Interest to Occupy the Walk-Up Apartment Most of respondents has known about the local government’s plan to build the walk-up apartment outside their area but still near the recent location. 74% have known about the plan but only a half have interest to move to the walk-up apartment. It means that there should an effort to convince them to have willingness to move to the walk-up apartment in case the plan would be executed. Income and Expenses The result for income and expenses area that 34% has the income less than 2.310.000. Almost 60% have income around 2.000.000 until 5.000.000. A few of them have the highest income around 6.000.000. But, 23% of respondents do not willing to give information. While the expenses of most respondents are about 1.000.000 until 4.000.000. 16% have expenses less than 1.000.000 and only a few expense more than 4.000.000. Some part of the land are owned by the local government, the others owned by the landlords, and a few of the land owned by some dwellers. Related to the density of the area, the Pulosari and its surrounding area is one of the densest populated area in Bandung, so do the building density. Moreover, social economic problems also become the interesting issue in Pulosari area. There is a fact that not all the slum dwellers are the poor due to a sightseeing observation of the housing condition in the location and also the survey result of their incomes and expenses.
