I lived in Bandung, a city known as “Parijs van Java,” located far in the bottom of south-east Asia region, Indonesia. My favorite moments residing in this city was when sitting in a car doing nothing but staring at the windows and being captivated by the view that present in my car windows. No matter what direction you saw you could always catch volcanic mountain view from the heart of the city because of its basin shape. Going north, you could view tea plantations with the humid air that serve you a refreshment from cities hustle and bustle. But not much later, green areas and open spaces are mainly built into a stack of cement and concrete. Soon, despite fascinated by the view, I spot slum area that hurt my eyes. Characterized by its density, disorder of the buildings, and limited facilities qualities. It’s already spread out in Bandung, the city where I was raised from birth that priorly full of green areas. Graduated as environmental engineer assure me to believe maintaining the excellent quality of natural and built environment is essential. I am wondering how could environmental consideration weight equally as social and economic consideration. I wish to could work with Robert B. Olshanky, not only he has been involved in post-disaster recovery management in Indonesia, but he covers land use and environmental planning, with an emphasis on planning for natural hazards. Passionated in investigating local implementation of environmental policies, I will learn how local environmental planning practice fits within the broader context of environmental policies. Also to work with Dustin Allred, to look up for urban governance, sustainable development and processes of urban restructuring
In the academic year of 2011-2012, I was responsible for increasing the percentage pass of the Living Environment by 10% at the World Academy for Total Community Health High school. The Living Environment Regents pass rate was 47% in 2010-2011. To achieve the goal, I examined the Item Analysis for the January 2012 Living Environment Regents. Then, that was when I became curious and interested in the dental field. When I was applying for colleges, I kept in mind that I wanted to become a dentist. And, even since I came to the United States and visited the dentist the experience kept me interested. In my second semester I took my first introduction to dental hygiene, I have learned a clearer understanding of what a dental hygienist does and the key difference between a dentist. And also last month I had the opportunity to shadow a second year student working her patient Barbra.
I may have been starting to doubt myself a little less since discovering that I was good at academics but I was not yet done with my commitment. I've still many more talents to discover but I can now start to see that beam of light, fighting to break out from behind those dark clouds of
Therefore, I should look to other too in the fields that I would want to go into and get firsthand knowledge from them. I was the first in my family to graduate high school and the first to move on to a post secondary school. As the car was in motion on the way to where I would be staying I rolled the window down. Something other than the tall green grasses and canopy trees caught my attention. I finally started to see some scattered buildings, hotels, and restaurants. The city started to seem more urbanized, that wasn 't the only infrastructure that I saw, more was yet to come. As we went deeper into the rural areas the buildings disappeared and the sidewalks started to become more deteriorated.
Introduction As the world’s population continues to migrate and live in urban areas, planners, engineers, and politicians have an important role to ensure that they are livable and sustainable. But what defines an urban area and what makes it so attractive? In my opinion, urban areas are places that consist of a variety of land uses and buildings, where services and amenities are easily accessible to the general public, and includes an established multimodal transportation network. Also, it should be a place where people can play, learn, work, and grow in a safe and collaborative manner.

What is an environmental impact report or statement? When we think of engineering we usually think of the construction of buildings or roads or even the manufacture of products. We rarely consider what effects these processes have on the surrounding environment or the global impact. In this section of the report I will discuss why an Environmental Impact Statement and Environment Impact Assessment are used in Civil engineering.
I agree with the assertion that in the context of Sustainable Development ‘the reality of life today is that the economy dominates environment and society. The Concept of Sustainable Development Sustainable development refers to “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”, and was produced by the Brundtland report (WCED, 1987). The concept also takes into account the needs of the poor in developing countries by outlining achievable objectives of importance (WCED, 1987).

Introduction: Our earth is the most precious gift of the universe. It is the sustenance of ‘nature’ that is the key to the development of the future of mankind. It is the duty and responsibility of each one of us to protect nature. It is here that the understanding of the ‘environment’ comes into the picture. The degradation of our environment is linked with the development process and the ignorance of people about retaining the ecological balance.
