Do you think Utopias are possible? Utopias are imaginary societies were everyone is the same,
there is no winner no losers, no rich no poor everyone is equal. There is no pain in a Utopian
Society and everyone will wake up to a nice happy morning. There is also the violence factor
which won’t even work because there is no pain. And finally it’s the fact that everyone has a spot
in this society, even the kids. But in my opinion, Utopias are impossible and will never show up.
The reasons will be stated below.
A Utopia is not possible because of human nature and the needs of a regular human being. One
reason that Utopias aren’t possible is the regular trains of a human being. Most people, maybe
some of us are a
By getting rid of everything that makes us human, there is no prejudice, differences and discrimination. Everyone has equal food, housing, opportunities, and hair color. The Giver is a perfect society. Another utopia that actually exists is the American prison system. Every aspect of their lives is regulated.
Your utopia could be exactly the same as mine or completely different. Maybe you don’t even like to look at the food or smell the sweet potatoes. A utopia shows how every one of us is unique. It describes us. It is a place to daydream about when you need a break from something.
All people have different ideas on what they like. If one person chose what utopia they want, not everyone will be happy. Utopia is one way a person sees as perfect, so one person’s utopia could be another person’s dystopia. A lot of stories have attempted utopias, for example Harrison Bergeron, Animal Farm, and even House of the Scorpion.
Some people, although a very small percent of the country,
A utopian world is only a dream. All government, laws, and people would be equal in such a place. When a utopian world is trying to be achieved, it is often turned into a dystopian one. The ultimate push for perfection, with the help of science, is doomed to failure for the exactly the same reason.
A perfect or dystopian society would have everything we wish. We could live without racism and have a nation where everyone is equally treated no matter what their racial orientation is. Since some problems we encounter today are caused by the government. Most sepcifically our president. Some people agree with him and others do not which causes a stir-up between citizens.
The American Dream is Attainable Dreaming of success, a bright future, or even hope? An idea placed in the Declaration of Independence, The American Dream has been a beacon of hope to many; however, does The American Dream really exist? Some can and will argue that it’s dead, and that it isn’t achievable. I believe it’s alive, but it has to be realistic. By being realistic, anything could be possible, but only with the amount of effort put forth.
Inequality is part of the reason that this dream is unachievable, but along with things we can’t control. We all have different dreams and some of them we already have. In “The Place Where Ghosts of Salmon Jump” by Sherman Alexie the indigenous people have a beautiful land that is their dream place to live. But then settlers move into their home and build damns, and cities, blocking their natural resources. These things that they can’t control are destroying their dream of having a clean and healthy home.
Impossible Dreams The meaning of the American Dream can be seen as ”A uniquely American vision of the country consisting of three central ideas. The American dream consists of a belief in America as the new Eden- a land of beauty, bounty, and unlimited promise; a feeling of optimism, created by ever expanding opportunity; and a confidence in the triumph of the individual.” Using this definition of the so called “American dream”, it seems to be a great representation of it at first, until you realize it includes everyone as the individual. From the beginning of the Civil war to the end of the War to End All Wars, the American Dream wasn’t possible due to the treatment of the Native Americans, the inequality between women and men, and the false promises given to the immigrants coming to our country in their time of need.
“Perhaps the greatest utopia would be if we could all realize that no utopia is possible”- Jack Carroll. Basically the author is saying, a utopia is a system destined to fail. The more perfect a system, the more fragile it is. Any wrong move will cause the system tumbling down like a house of cards. A utopia cannot work because of the interactions between society.
There is no troubles, pain and inequality but there is also no love, choice or individuality. Everyone is the exact same person. People need there differences to be who they are, otherwise what is the point in living if it means nothing special? Although an utopian society seems perfect with equality and peace, everything has its faults even in if considered perfect such as loss of individuality and choice as in societal ideas like birthday celebrations, being assigned a family and having others choose your time of death.
Who has never dreamt about a society where everything would be perfect? A place where everyone would have what they want. While for some it would be about being rich, having a mutant society like X-men, others would ask for justice, freedom and equality. All of them are acceptable; it is your point of view of a perfect society. This type of society is known as Utopia (which, according to Merrian-Webster is “an imaginary place in which the government, laws, and social conditions are perfect”).
Imagine a community with no hate, no war, and no famine. A place where everyone is accepted and everything is better than imaginable. This idea of perfection is known as a utopia, an ideal society. A utopia is known as a successful, perfect society. A place where everything goes right for everyone that lives there.
