At the last City Council meeting, council members approved a donation of labor and materials from 21-year-old Esteban Valdez and 20-year-old Andrea Covel, as they met with staff previously and asked for Council’s permission to paint the gazebo at Todd Park.

We were trying to pick a day, and then we were like, “Okay, I guess we should choose Valentines Day and from there we just hurried and got it together.”
Sending out E-vites and Facebook messages to their long list of friends up until the very hour of their wedding, the couple was inviting any and everyone to join them for their once in a lifetime celebration. With his father Eleazar Valdez officiating the wedding, Valdez shared how Valentine’s Day couldn’t be any more perfect to celebrate and spoil his bride.
“We decided to have the wedding on Valentine’s Day… My last name Valdez means “of Valentine,” and I don’t necessarily celebrate most holidays, but with it being Valentine’s Day and most people celebrating that day, I thought it would be a great way to transition, celebrate and spoil her on that day.”
Wherein Andrea shared, “And plus we were sweethearts, so that’s why Valentine’s Day was so perfect.”
With the gazebo at Todd Park decorated in white, purple, red and pink colors, the couple recited their vows together, before family and friends, as their love for one another illuminated across their

This is why Mexicans in both Mexico and the U.S celebrate this historic victory.

Knowing that I am an arts ' enthusiast, she searched for local events pertaining to art and stumbled across tickets to this event on the OMA websites list of attractions. The intended exhibit of the Antiques Vintage and Garden Show was a bit of a snooze and we ended up spending over two hours in the room designated for the Pre-Columbian art works instead, which happened to line up with the time period of the art works studied in this course of Art History. Through my experience at this exhibit it was revealed to me the importance of the natural world in every Mesoamerican cultures form of art. Specifically, this was proven by the fact that the materials utilized were part of each cultures stomping grounds, literally, in reference to clays and ceramics, also by the subjects and scenes depicted in such works revolved around the natural environment at hand, and lastly shown by the value of animal life depicted through their representation and symbolism. As we entered a small, yet brightly lit room we were overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of authentic Mesoamerican art works and

Sierra paints a humongous mural of a dragon on the side of a concrete building “five-story concrete monstrosity” that was built by developers but never finished and it is useless but kind of makes a connection to the villan of the book, Jonathan Wick who is against the shadowshapers becausue he doesn’t understand it and wants to destroy something he doesn’t understand like how the building is destroying the community. “We hate the Tower,” Manny the Domino King tells her, explaining why her mural is important. “We spit on the Tower. Your paint is our nasty loogie, hocked upon the stupidity that is the Tower.” It turns out that the mural is important for another reason not only to give the building color but to have Sierra channel spirits into hers and Robbie’s art.
Selena’s death was detrimental to the Mexican-American population, for they lost a truly beloved icon. To many she became “more alive than she ever was in life.” Selena’s death “[brought recognition to Mexican-American, and unity to Hispanics” (Anijar 2001). In particular, her impact on the community of Corpus Christi is evident. The community honors Selena with a two-day festival, Fiesta de la Flor, which started on April 2015, where proceeds go the Selena foundation.
In the very first line describing the wedding scene we are told of how great an occasion it was, “La boda fue como todos esperaban”. It conveys the anticipation leading up to the day for all involved particularly with the use of the verb ‘esperar’. The narrator talks about the great food, music and dancing and shirts stained with wine before the ceremony even begins. Through the narrator Sender describes the party atmosphere and wild celebrations in the town that spanned the entire day.

A memorable day I my life is when I first found out I was a diabetic. I was scared and didn’t really understand what was happening. I was too sick, and for the most part out of my mind. But, what I do remember is a lot of pain and a few visitors. It wasn’t the best day and I don’t remember every detail.
