ABSTRACT
Since every person belongs to the family of humanity certain basic values which are accepted universally. Without these basic values the character would be lacking in certain primary traits. The basic value are essential to profound a character just like the foundation to the building .Without foundation the building would not stand, so also without basic values we cannot build a sound character. Value based education instils educational and cultural values among students and aims at achieving multi-faceted development of a human being namely intellectual, physical, spiritual and ethical development. The values incorporated in a value-based curriculum may include cooperation, responsibility, happiness, simplicity, unity, peace, respect, love, tolerance, honesty, humility, and freedom. The main purpose of holistic education is to prepare students to meet the challenges of living as well as academics. Education can be considered as a means to impart general and specific information; teaching skills and most importantly inculcate values. Education should be a process of acquiring true knowledge. In planning for good values and objectives, the teacher and student will have to cooperate and work together. The purpose of education is to strengthen character in the younger generation which is an answer to many of the problems that face people today. It can bring about a widespread renewal of individual commitment to an active life of principle and this renewal is imperative. The methods and strategies of value education are many and varied the selection of, which depends much upon the values chosen, sources of development of these values and many other limiting factors. The entire school curriculum function as an important sources of value education. The democratic practice and activities sponsored though a student self government contributes effectively for value learning. There is no way in which children can avoid catching values and attitudes form their teachers. Values education in schools, therefore, is effected through direct, indirect, incidental methods. This is a chance for the schools to reinforce their ethos and values. The ethos of the school should be felt in the atmosphere of the school environment as it is part of daily practise and activites planned by the teachers. Explain how the ethos, mission, aims and values of a school may be reflected in working practices. The ethos, mission, aims and values of the school should be known very well before entering the school setting as it is part and parcel of the environment of the school and the daily practice of the staff and pupils there. All adults that work and are part of setting have the responsibility to model the standards of behaviour, with the children and amongst the colleagues. Good association and strong dealings between adults will encourage the good behaviour in children. All children as an individual should be respected within the school.
The significance of education cannot be stated enough, which is an investment to a better future. Getting an education is one of the most powerful things a person can ever obtain. It is crucial to the overall development of the individual and the society as a whole. When individuals do not have the option of getting an education due to the cost of the schools as well as the lack of schools itself. For those living in poverty it can be difficult to earn the same amount of education as other people who are considered middle or high class.
It is difficult to protect children from all the ups and downs of life. Teaching values to children takes time, which is a scarce commodity in our increasingly challenging time. As a result, external influences like peer pressure and the internet are having a greater effect to children, shaping their perspectives and behaviours more than ever before. Resilience, respect, kindness, honesty, courage, discipline, compassion and trustworthiness are among the values that parents must instill to their children. Inculcating solid morals to children protects them from negative societal influences and lays the foundation for them to become responsible
The book has 26 chapters and can be divided into two parts. This division is not present in the contents and thus is not a structural division per se. The first seven chapters provide a theoretical foundation for democratic education and the later chapters reconstruct the core educational notions upon that foundation.

In Vietnam, the obligatory moral curriculums for students are Moral Education in primary levels, Civics education in secondary levels, and Marxist sciences and Ho Chi Minh thoughts at university. The aim of these curriculums are character and personality building, citizenship education, and spreading the ideas of inculcating socialist thoughts and socialist principles respectively (Truong, 2013). Different from Vietnam, all Singapore students have to take the compulsory subject ‘Civics and Moral Education’ (CME) at the primary and secondary levels, and ‘Civics’ at the pre-university level. Six core values identified as the foundation for good character are respect, responsibility, integrity, care, resilience, and harmony. According to Tan (2013), these six values are intended to “complement and reinforce” various state- sanctioned visions, namely “Our Shared Values, the Singapore Family Values, the Singapore 21 Vision and the National Education messages”.
Being a pre-service training educator, specific goals and objectives should be set to achieve educator’s own educational philosophy. The Educational philosophy is an individual statement of educators’ guiding principles about the education-related issues, which helps to guide when drawing up curricula and structuring classroom discussions for children. Every educator should have their unique set of principles and ideas to affect students’ performance. I strongly believe that early childhood education is to help children to achieve whole person development which including cognitive, physical, mental and social aspects. Commitment to ongoing learning is also recognised as an essential element. Teachers should be passionate about, not only student learning, but their own personal growth and professional development. Freedom and social justice: Respect for personal rights and freedoms, as well as for culture, human rights and dignity are essential elements that need to be present in daily practicum. Respect: Teachers should honour human dignity, emotional wellness and cognitive development of students.
In this assignment, I will be writing on how to apply the principles of pedagogy in my area of specialism. Effective teacher uses diverse teaching strategies and universal approaches that suit situations, different strategies in different grouping of learners to improve learning outcomes, There are different teaching styles that suit different learners backgrounds and ability. Teachers are ldentified in their profession as ‘learning specialist’ , and there are five principles of good pedagogy which are Motivation, Exposition, Direction of activity and Inviting imitation. Andragogy is the best approach for effective delivery and pedagogy, both approaches must be used to ensure effective delivery. The principle is the idea of the curriculum and requirement of my subject area, I adopted pedagogy and andragogy that learners will understand The word motivation preceeds teaching at all times the teacher is preparing for delivery of effective and engaging instructional process.
Introduction: Education is a basic need of every human being. Every country has their own education system with a motive of “to make their people well educated and civilized”. Schools, colleges, universities, Affiliation Boards, teacher, lecturers, professors, students etc all these entities form the system called an educations system. So we can say that: “Education Education system is a collection of interrelated entities or components that work in collaboration to achieve the common goal i.e. educate the students.”
Element 1.1.1 - 1.1.3 As a school community, we promote heritage and culture in our school through assemblies and educational presentations to preserve our culture. A huge celebration that takes place is National day where the triad of parent, school and community come together to celebrate our country. Element 1.2.1 - 1.2.3 As a teacher, we are role models to our students, therefore we need to demonstrate punctuality, attendance and proper dress code. Showing integrity in the workplace transfers into modeling a positive work ethic which is reflective of the teacher and school.

The purpose of education is to create the “catalyst”, - the interest, the imagination, the self-confidence, the enthusiasm for further knowledge that helps a person grow beyond what they believe they can be. Education should help develop skills and knowledge, so students can be productive members of society. The more knowledge you have, the more opportunities you have in life. I think back to my childhood and the teachers that made an impact in my life. I want to be that catalyst for students.
Malcolm X once said “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepared for it today.” In the western world education plays a vital role in shaping our future; it determines if we will survive or fail in the world we created for ourselves. Our world is constantly changing and it requires a society that is well versed in understanding the problems deriving from cultural differences and tolerance of one another’s beliefs and perceptions. With the power of education we are able to deal with the problems of economic, government, religion and culture differences.
