Shakespeare shows the theme, love and friendship, well because of the relationships between Antonio and Bassanio, Jessica and Lorenzo, & Portia and Bassanio. Antonio and Bassanio share a very large bond of friendship. Antonio is a wealthy merchant who often lends money, but never charges interest. Bassanio is a nobleman who is careless with his money. In act 1, their friendship was shown the most. Bassanio fell in love with a girl and Antonio decides to take a risk and borrow money for him. Antonio must pay 3,000 ducats in three months or a “an equal pound
Of your fair flesh, to be cut off and taken” (1.3.161-162) is removed from his body by Shylock. Shakespeare wrote this well because this is telling readers that friendship is more important

Jessica and Lorenzo are true to each other. The reason why they are together is because of the relationship between Jessica and her father, Shylock. Jessica doesn’t like her father because of the way he treats others, his money lending job, and is a bit strict on her. She thinks he is more of a villain to not just her, but to those around him. So, she decides to leave her father for Lorenzo, a Christian. Jessica is not just leaving her father, but her religion too. She is a Jew and her father hates Christians because of the way he was treated by one. Jessica is running away from her father and converting to Christianity. One day, Lorenzo was given a letter (from Launcelot) about Jessica’s escape plan. Jessica is waiting at her house with some of her father’s jewels and gold. She is to be dressed up as a young boy and to be Lorenzo’s torchbearer during a street festival. This was her way to blend in and to be thought as a male assistant. I didn't enjoy how Shakespeare wrote this family because it isn't doesn't seems right that Jessica is leaving her father and religion because of the way he acts and does business. There should be another reason behind her leaving beside his relationship with others. I understand that she is leaving her father for her freedom, but he is doing this to protect her and to not lose her in a way he did with his
Do you remember reading a thrilling story that you could actually relate too? Numerous stories today tell the inspiring stories of people by many authors; however, I feel The Odyssey and Romeo and Juliet both portray similar themes in the context of the story. For example, both show the importance of love, family, and fate in the context of the story. In the story Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is passionately in love with Juliet.
When Jessica goes to math class she starts talking to a girl named Rosa who has cylisbrly palsy. Rosa tells Jessica that she wants to cross the finish line one day, so when Jessica gets her prosthetic running leg she decides she is going to run with Rosa. Gavin, her new boyfriend and the rest of her friends and family support her throughout the novel especially when she decides she is going to run with
Sure, here is a revised version of the essay focusing on the importance of a good relationship between the two characters in the novel, as well as its relevance in real life: "Lost in the Barrens" by Farley Mowat is a novel that delves into the theme of friendship through the relationship between Jamie and Awasin. The story is set in the Canadian wilderness and follows the two boys as they become stranded and must rely on each other to survive. Through their journey, the author illustrates the importance of trust, support, and understanding in a friendship. The friendship between Jamie and Awasin is tested throughout the novel as they face various challenges. They come from different backgrounds and have vastly different experiences, yet
The undeniable influence of friendship Roughly 46% of Americans claim to have at least one true friend. In the novel, The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead, Turner and Elwood were more than just friends. They were best friends, roommates, and brothers. The torture they endured at Nickel Acadamy, a reform school in Florida, was traumatic and heartless.
As author Alex Morritt once said “The word 'friend' has become so utterly void of meaning in a world governed by social media. How can anyone truly claim to have eleven hundred friends ? In my book that would involve making time to meet at least three of them every day of the year.” This fascinating perspective on friendship is one that is exhibited by both Thomas Hardy’s poem “The Man he Killed” as well as Erich Maria Remarque's novel All Quiet on the Western Front. Although not related to social media, both of these books dehumanize the terms “friends” to simple objects, portraying ideas on how allies are deemed allies and enemies are deemed opponents in war, even though this may not be the case if one was to meet them in real life.
Why does the parents want to get rid of their daughter? The reason why is because the daughters are kind of useless to the parents. The womans are not be able to carry on the family name, and also they have no rights of their own so they tend to take orders. That is why the father in the beginning of Act 1 was willing to give some of his wealth to any men that will wed his two daughters. It so happen to be a two old man name ‘Gremio’ and ‘Hortensio’ that wanted to marry his youngest daughters ‘Bianca’, and as any good father he was gladly to give his younger daughter to one of the old men.
Weekly Response: Othello Throughout Othello Shakespeare is able to pontificate about how it is often found that appearance is more highly valued than character, yet character is far more significant. This concept is epitomized when the Duke says to Brabantio, “And, noble signior / If virtue no delighted beauty lack / Your son-in-law is far more fair than black,” (1.3.284-286).
A true friendship must include trust between two people who really care about each other. The novel, “A Separate Peace,” by John Knowles demonstrates the bond between two friends, and how that bond is kept together by trust. This quality can destroy or build a friendship. This story presents the trust and loyalty in a friendship.
Othello’s character undergoes a significant change due to a series of events at the hands of Iago, the play’s antagonist to enhance the fact that even a valiant heroes can become corrupt. In the beginning of the play, Othello adores

Women in this play shape the way the plot unfolds. Emilia is possibly the smartest women in this entire play and is not appreciated by her husband Lago. Emilia even goes as far as to help Lago with his evil plan and he never thanks her. Desdemona is the most important women character of the play and is treated the worst by her husband Othello. Jessica shows strength when she abandons her father for Lorenzo. She doesn 't ask her father if she can marry Lorenzo, she just does it on her own. This behavior goes against prescribed gender roles for women in Shakespeare 's time period. She also wills to convert to Christianity in order to be respected by people. Here we see the hatred of Jessica toward her father and toward her religion.
