In Indonesia, video editing is assumed to be a male’s job. Consequently, there are only a few Indonesian females working as video editors. For example, there were only four females out of forty-seven video editors working at the Kompas Gramedia TV Group. As one of the few female video editors, I succeeded in becoming the head of the video editing division of Kompas TV. However, leading eleven video editors for various TV programmes is a challenging job. To maintain stability in the workplace, I treat each of my team members fairly. Every member is assigned their duties and responsibilities based on their capabilities. To maintain the quality of work, I created a working system in which the senior video editors work with juniors. By building teamwork, there will be a transfer of knowledge between them, which will result in an improvement of their skills. The outcome were in 2012, Children of the Sea, Kompas TV’s documentary which raised awareness on child labor in Indonesia won awards from the ILO and UNICEF, and, in 2013, The Endangered Towers of Borneo, Kompas TV’s documentary about the destruction of tropical rainforests in Borneo managed to become the …show more content…

I will also use TV and digital platforms as a broadcasting medium. By utilising multiplatform media, the chances of people watching will be bigger that the impact of this programme will be wider. This is in line with the growing awareness of Asian people towards self-health and the struggle they face in prioritising health in this modern life. As for the long term, with my previous work in Malaysian news television, Astro Awani, I hope to be able to initiate collaboration with one of the media companies in Southeast Asia to create health and lifestyle
