It’s unhealthy, sitting in your chair playing video games all day long is harmful to you and your health and can lead to a number of diseases in the future, the prime one being obesity. Spending a great chunk of your time playing video games can also lead to poor grades, it is due to people gaming and not doing their homework, preparing for tests. More gaming can also lead to less socializing, and to succeed in life, you need to develop excellent communication skills. So, for those reasons, I believe that an inordinate time spent on video games is a poor habit. Firstly, teenagers that spend a great load of time playing video games don’t attain enough physical exercise.
Parents and/or guardians always say “stop looking at that screen and stop playing video games. It 's bad for you and your eyes and brain.” Most parents do not know that video games help teens with more than just burning brain cells. Over the years video games have grown. Teens play video games for plenty of reasons such as to relieve stress and take anger out instead of acting violently. While playing video games, players can interact and be involved in the game and react emotionally, and mentally.
Firstly, people who play video games are shown to have less social skills than people who don’t. In an experiment by the US National Library of Medicine, it was found that non-addicted subjects have higher social skills in comparison with the addicted group. It says, “The results of the present study are in accordance with the study of Griffiths (1998) which showed children addicted to computer games only tend to play games and avoid social relations.” Spending long amounts of time without interacting with people tends to reduce the quality and quantity of socials skills in a person, since humans are meant to be social animals. Since most video games require little to no social interaction, gamers start losing their social well- being. Yet, this is just one of the reasons why video game addiction is extremely risky behavior.
As article 1 mentions, "Playing video games as a form of entertainment can help a child relax" (P. 3). On the other hand, opposers question the stress-reducing nature of video games. A major point they discuss is that "...games actually increase aggressive thoughts and behavior" (Article 2, P. 4). Many parents and older alduts are concerned that children may become more violent as they age when exposed to many of the popular violent video games out there. However, the reality is that "most youths fully understand the difference between fantasy and reality" (Article 1, P. 3).
Is simulated violence on video games worse for kids than a normal game? Video games are not very good for kids because they can make the kids act out not with can not be normal. Boys are more likely to act out then girls from the games, but girls still can. Video games can cause people and kids to get very mad and this is called raging, but raging is not good because it makes the people playing the games very aggressive and mad. When kids get mad they can break stuff around the house or something or even worst there are some occasions where people have went on a killing rampage.
Obesity is another problem harming the physical development of children and has become an epidemic and major public health problem in the US. Studies have found that obesity linked to multimedia use is interconnected with gender, type of technological device, family structure and economic background. The TV is the major culprit as children tend to have a higher calorie intake while passively watching TV. Video gaming, on the other hand, requires more devotion and generally the use of both hands which leaves no opportunity to snack during playtime without interruption. As mentioned earlier, modern gaming devices offer a variety of genres to include sports games that require physical movement during game play.
However, a report published by the American Psychologist considered the fact that video games can help to improve one’s cognitive performance, while all forms of videogames helps to improve a person’s problem solving skills. In that sense, while videogames are considered destructive to the society,
These is true that watching TV has many benefits, but not of all it still has cons effect. Watching the movie that a long time will danger for the eyes health, brain and mental. The effects are depends on the way of a person depend on the video games and they maybe will give the effects of positive and also negative.
