Other Factors Contributing to Violent Crimes
1. Lack of the word of God!
2. Negative effects of physical and/or sexual abuse.
3. A desire to manipulate others.
4. Altered thinking due to substance abuse.
5. Hungry for attention-lacking love.
6. Violence in entertainment.
7. Exposure to actual violence.
8. Unable to cope with problems.
9. Dysfunctional family dynamics.
10. Easy access to deadly weapons.
11. Hatred of a certain group—prejudice.
12. Teens with low self-esteem.
Those inner-city teens live for today only, they don’t think about tomorrow; they couldn’t care less. They want everything now, today, even though it could cost them their lives. They are not afraid to die or to kill. They are very depressed and have a lot of anger in

National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC) issued a report listing factors that could identify youth who might commit lethal violence in school. They look at some family factors such as a turbulent parent-child relationship, parents who are unable to recognize problems in their children, a lack of closeness, parents who set few or no limits on a child’s conduct, and children who are extremely private, leading a double life and thus hiding a part of their lives from their parents. Today, many children are victims of family breakups. Others have parents who have little time for them. Thousands of young ones have grown up with inadequate moral and family guidance. Some experts feel that “Such an environment may result in children not developing the ability to bond well with others, thus making it easier for them to commit crimes against fellow humans, often without remorse.” It seems like crime appears to be a permanent nightmare in American society and around the world, despite the efforts of law enforcement, criminal justice departments, social workers, and many more. Crime and violence are still affecting many American citizens in the United States of America and around the world. Is there really a solution to this problem? If you read your Bible, you will know that it shows that a big change is on the way. Changes that will not come from governments or law makers. Governments and lawmakers are limited because they don’t have the real power and …show more content…
As I said before, in every race there are negative and positive people. That’s what makes the world go round. Even though that’s what makes the world go round, I would never choose to be a negative person. Such a choice would drive me to self-destruction. Being negative is living your life in the dark. (2 Peter 3:10-11) states: "Choosing the world with its pleasures will end in destruction." Deciding to serve the Lord with all your heart instead of going along with the course of the world is making a good and a wise choice (being positive). Having Jesus Christ as our companion brings us into the presence of a wise Counselor, who will protect and guide us in all decisions of life. So, dear reader, have you chosen Jesus as a companion yet? It’s essential that you make him your dearest and nearest companion, closer than anything or anyone else in this world. In order to do what’s right, you must surrender your life and confess all your sins to him. It’s imperative to choose a secret place, either at home or someplace else, to meditate and pray to Almighty God. This is the most blessed condition in which somebody can live in such a crazy world. When I say crazy world, it doesn’t really mean the world, it’s just some people in it who are
Theories such as, Inherited Criminality, Appearance, and even theories regarding the poor development of key areas of the Central Nervous System (CNS), could all be factors. But what really stands out, is how these biological factors may have interacted within the environment in which these children grew up (Bernard, 2016). Most of the children featured in the documentary were abused, delinquent, and often used drugs and alcohol. Any undetermined biological or physical factor as identified by the biological theories of crime, could very well have played a role when factored into the environmental conditions that the child was growing up
There are other ways that violence can be broadcast. Entertainment such as video games, music, videos, graphic novels and movies, all have an impact on the increasing violence in our generation. Video games can be played by everyone, especially adolescent from the age of 12-17. They can “play video games- on a computer, on consoles such as the Wii, PlayStation and Xbox, or on portable devices such as Gameboys, smartphones and tablets (APA).” Also from video games, music, videos, graphic novel and movies also contain sexual contents, alcoholism or drug addiction, guns, domestic violence, and etc.
Criminal behaviour has always been an interest for psychologists, for they could never quite come to a conclusion between nature and nurture. Research concerning this topic has been organized for many years and due to the never ending debate, is still being conducted. I have decided to read and write about this myself, for I was genuinely curious about the matter and wanted to be a part of the research, as I felt responsible to do so. I believe that in order to stop something, it must be discussed and scrutinized. What effects do genes have on criminal behaviour, why do peer pressure and habitat influence a person to commit crimes and are men really more violent than women?
In Matthew chapter sixteen verse twenty-four, Jesus says, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.” Taking up your cross is an action that must occur minute by minute. You must choose either to sit idly and to just avoid evil or to make a conscious decision to follow and chase after Christ and His ways. Another example in Scripture is Ephesians six verses ten through thirteen. It says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and His mighty power.
This theory clearly rules out the effect of inherited or innate factors, and the last is the cognitive theory, which is based on how the perception of an individual is manifested into affecting his or her potential and capability to commit a crime. (Psychological theories of crime) Relating these theories to the case under study, it’s clear that the behaviour can be traced most times to faulty relationships in the family during the first years of
Minorities in the community have been subjected to violence by law enforcement in the United States for some time. This violence is called police brutality and it is unacceptable. The job of a police officer is to maintain public order, prevent, and detect crime. They are a part of a dangerous and stressful career that can involve risky situations that must be controlled. Sometimes police are put in situations that excessive force is needed.
Violence is easily seen in today's culture through criminal actions in the media. Surprisingly, "on average, American youth view more than 1,000 murders, rapes, and assaults each year" (Rockefeller 2). This shocking fact demonstrates just how prevalent violence is in the young minds of Americans. As a result of these viewings, young adults are sure to have psychological effects. Studies have proven that "children who view media violence are more likely to have increased feelings of hostility, decreased emotional response to the portrayal of violence and injury that lead to violent behavior through imitation" (Tompkins 1).
Today in America we have a crime problem that has been around for generations. Governments in each states spends an enormous amount of money for prisons, police salaries, courthouse and etc. just to try to keep up with the growing amount of law offenders that we have today. Whether we, the citizens like it or not we are exposed with violent behavior from the movies we watch to the music we listen to. Watching the evening news and the top headline news is about the “Orlando Shooting” suspect kills 49 (CNN.com) you are already exposed to violence.

Thesis Requirement for English 27 NB Title: Media and Violent Behavior Thesis Statement: Media violence encourages real violence I. Overview of Violence in the Media Definition of Violence When we hear the word violence what comes into our mind? For me I always associate violence from movies with fight scenes that show a lot of blood and gore. Although my definition is closely related to the general definition of violence, it’s a bit too specific.
There are many studies on media violence and its social effects. Most of the studies have indicated that children who are exposed to media violence are more likely to exhibit violent and aggressive behaviors. As the child observes the violence, he/she is motivated by the fact that the show is enjoyable without realizing the violent behaviors. As a result, they copy and identify the behavior, and this has detrimental effects on their social life. According to Boxer et al., the content of the media has a direct impact on its audiences (420).
Esbensin, Peterson, Taylor and Freng (2010) implies that “ young people who have committed serious violent offenses have the highest level of impulsive and risk-seeking tendencies.” Moreover, extreme violent criminal activity being performed in front of youth increases the risk of them performing acts of extreme violence themselves. Because youth see those acts as acceptable so committng those violent activities make youths to become ruthless. Smith and Green (2007) assert that violent activities becoming ruthless and the perpetrators even more ruthless.
As television watching increased severely over the past half-century, it also became more violent. In 1969 the National Commission on the causes and prevention of violence indicated that ‘The preponderance of the available research evidence strongly suggests…that violence in television programs can and does have adverse effects upon audiences’ (cited in Berkowitz, 1993, p.199.) Since that time, television violence has increased largely. Research reports in 1970, published that children has seen over 11,000 murders on television by the age of 14. More recent researches and reports have demonstrated that now, the average child sees more than 100,000 violent crimes on television every year and about 200,000 crimes when they reach their teens.
As you know, violent media means TV show or game have violent acts in it. Nowadays, lots of children are recognized for having bad influence by violent media. Children may be more fearful of the world around them, or they more likely to behave in aggressive or harmful ways toward others (“Violent Media and Aggressive Behavior in Children”). Violence media has appeared in a long time, and it has a great impact on children.
This can lead to juvenile involvement in crimes. Secondly, factors associated with parental conflict and discipline to include abuse, nagging, harsh and erratic discipline makes the home very uncomfortable and wayward, thus pushing children to seek comfort from peers. Thirdly, deviant parental behaviors and attitudes such as parental criminality, parental violence and tolerance of violence form a high tendency for crime involvement. Lastly, family disruption as a result of chronic spousal conflict or marriage break-up can leave the children to the hands of their peers for upbringing and in most cases would expose them to criminal activity (Loeber & Stouthamer-Loeber,
