Virtual Reality - Evidence for the Theory In the last years, the progress made in computer science technology has brought faster and faster computers to the market. This technology is now becoming overwhelmingly prevalent and fashionable in current decade is called Virtual Reality (VR). The very first idea was presented by Ivan Sutherland in 1965. He once said “Make that (virtual) world in the window look real, sound real, feel real, and respond realistically to the viewer’s
Summary Nowadays Virtual Reality (VR) technology are getting more popular, more and more products and services using VR technology, for example video game, movie, travel, etc. Player play VR game can dedicated to the game. Also, VR is very convenience, user can visit any place by VR device at home. Introduction of VR technology Virtual Reality is use of computer simulation to produce a three-dimensional virtual world and provide the visual and other sensory simulation to user so that the user will feel like in real world. User can real time and not any limit to observe everything in VR world.
In spite of the indifference, Virtual Reality has awoken the world in giant ways. Society should not stay doubtful of the countless possibilities it has to bring in an optimistic and technological way. Recently, in order to describe something that holds spirit and effect without having form, but having an effect on the actual, the word ‘virtual’ was used. Virtual reality is developing all the time and has found hitches not formerly considered. Applications of Virtual reality are starting to find their way into normal society.
So a simple question arises “what is Virtual-Reality”? Virtual-Reality is referred to the Computer (Programming) stimulated life which creates a virtual or imaginary world. It replicates only the physical presence of a real life; but all the control system of that real life is stimulated by an unknown program through
Virtual reality (VR) is a manufactured, PC created reenactment or entertainment of a genuine domain or circumstance. It inundates the client by making them feel like they are encountering the recreated reality firsthand, basically by invigorating their vision and hearing. virtual reality versus enlarged reality VR is regularly accomplished by wearing a headset like Facebook's Oculus furnished with the innovation,
The Good and the Bad of Escaping to Virtual Reality Researchers have been proving that new immersive technology leads to isolation. The reasons for this situation is: when social needs are met online, people won 't need in-person interaction as much. In 1975, in Silicon Valley, USA, a ragtag band of programmers began exploring the concept of virtual reality from a tiny cottage in Palo Alto. Organized by the 24-year-old Jaron Lanier, VPL Research helped make VR a buzzword in the mid-to-late 80s and earned substantial investment, before filing for bankruptcy at the decade’s end. Although mass media interest from publications like Scientific American and Wired, the technology was not there—or it was too expensive—and the audience was a bit too
1. INTRODUCTION Virtual reality is the use of computer technology to create effect of an interactive 3D world in which the objects have a sense of spatial presence. The primary difference between conventional 3D computer graphics and Virtual Reality is that in Virtual Reality we are working with things instead of pictures of things. Interaction is an essential characteristic of virtual environments. Much has been published about interaction techniques in VR but the searching for truly intuitive and natural interaction techniques is still going on.
So what is virtual reality? Answer is simple – it is virtual environment that is created by gadgets, software and even artificially created sensing experience that is presented to the user in such a way that he believes and accept it as a real environment. Virtual Reality varies from augmented reality. In virtual reality, the real world is completely blocked out and a virtual world is created, whereas in Augmented reality adds to the already existing real world. Virtual reality is created by artificial sensory experiences like sight, sound, touch and smell.
A virtual life is a computer-based environment, sometimes it includes moving around, or simply just sitting down at a computer or cellphone. For some people, it is a way to escape the real world, or to do something that they never have the chance to do. “Adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) and physical disabilities often experience limited opportunities to participate in leisure activities, virtual reality (VR) technologies may serve to broaden their repertoire to accessible leisure activities” (Yalon-Chamovitz, 2008, pg. 273-287). VR helps picture what life is like with no problems, or problems that can be fixed.
Virtual reality is the computer-simulated three-dimensional virtual images, gives user an experience like in a real world [8], the scene will change simultaneous when moving the head and the body, by using the controller or eye point, user can have interaction with the virtual world. Virtual reality system should contain three basic features, immersion-interaction-imagination [9]. Immersion means the simulated environment is so vivid just the same as reality, user can hardly distinguish or even cannot differentiate virtual reality and reality, and all the control in this environment is just as natural as in the real world. Interaction means user is able to interact everything in the virtual environment, and the virtual environment can give feedback based on that, imagination simply means it can simulate all the possible and impossible scenes, such as see through a human body to observe the internal organs and blood vessel or have an adventure to the Mars which is beyond what human can achieve. Those features indicate that in the future human will hold the leading position in the VR system.
