Vitamins are organic compounds (contain at least one carbon atom) that meet vital functions related to metabolism and the production of hormones, neurotransmitters, blood cells or genetic material. They also possess enzymatic function accelerating chemical reactions, that without her presence would be carried out too slowly to have biological interest.
