Vulnerability is not affiliated with the state of a consumer. It can be caused or forced by the actions or processes of firms. The consequences of vulnerability are strong and many people are trying to cope with challenging situations and narrow resources, energy and time. Stress can affect state of mind and the ability to manage effectively. In the case of Lyons v Queensland [2016] HCA 38, Ms Lyons, who is profoundly deaf and requires assistance from Australian Language Interpreters (AUSLAN), was excluded from jury duty on the grounds of her impairment. Lyons held that her exclusion from serving on a jury was unlawful discrimination prohibited by the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD) (A.D.A). After being summoned for jury duty, she notified the deputy registrar that she would require the assistance of an AUSLAN.

The definition of vulnerability is the quality or state of being exposed to the possibilities of being attacked or harmed both physically and emotionally. Often, the result of a tragic experience one undergoes or is forced to go throughout life. The vulnerability is often associated with poverty although in the past: vulnerability has been viewed as more of an identifying subject. Meanwhile, poverty has been viewed as an invariable matter; The philosophers Nietzsche, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s letter from Birmingham jail both address this issue in two distinct ways. Both philosophers use major concepts in their writings to defend this matter.

One of the scandals includes the bank staff opening over two million unauthorized bank and credit card accounts. People as a competitive advantage are among its stated values, which give priority to the customers over organizational objectives. However, the staff focused on getting huge bonuses while committing fraudulent practices against their customers, e.g., opening fake accounts (Ferrel, Fraedrich & Ferrel, 2009).
Some are mentally disabled, others may be physically disabled, and many have both mental and physical disabilities. In general I feel that people that have these disabilities are given the run around, made to feel that they do not matter, and are not important enough to receive the correct information they are seeking to obtain. A subject (Social Problems page 222) I provide care to was awarded Dual Coverage insurance for a year, which in her case is Medicare, full Medicaid coverage, and a waiver for aging disabilities. When it came time to for her to recertify for her benefits, she had all the necessary paperwork along with the required proof in order for her to continue receiving all her current benefits to take to her Human Services Department (HSD) appointment.
