The mission of the Wabash Neighborhood Community Garden is to provide gardening opportunities for the physical and social benefits of the residents of the Wabash Neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods in Ferguson, Missouri. The garden serves as a place for neighbors to get to know each other, to learn from each other, to build supportive relationships, to host neighborhood events, and to create a beautiful common area. The immediate goal of the garden is to outreach, engage, and educate children to plant a garden plot.

Both subjects advised that they paid David Sasser $350.00 dollars to build their son a bunk bed. They advised that Sasser told them that he spent all the money and didn’t buy any supplies. In Steubenville, Ohio, a sixteen-year-old girl was attending a local high school party with her friends. The girl was more intoxicated than others and refused to go home after the party was shut down. She then joined a group of guys who were going to another party and when they get there, the girl was too drunk to remember anything else. Two of the boys that were with her were Trent Mays and Malik Richmond. Both of them were football players at Steubenville High School, which was a big deal in small town Steubenville.

The Chicago Race Riots of 1919 was a major conflict that began in Chicago Illinois because of racial tension between black and whites because of cultural differences. The Chicago race riots is also referred to as the “Red Summer” because of all the bloodshed that took place the summer after World war 1. The race riots began on July 27th, 1919 and ended August 3rd, 1919. On the first day of the riots thirty eight people died, 23 were black, 15 were white and 537 people. In order to understand our statistical data, we must first accurately grasp the definitions of gentrification and displacement. Gentrification means a demographic or physical change that conforms to the middle class. The financial definition of middle class means that a single individual or household makes between $50k-120k annually. Uniquely, displacement is the removal of something or someone by something else that takes their place.
