While both of the short stories “The Devil and Tom Walker” and “The Devil and Daniel Webster” are both used to show the downfall of wealth, the two stories vary in many different ways. Both short stories have detailed descriptions of the devil, both had some ‘religion’ involved, and both had conclusions which were for the most part resolved. The short stories both indicate to the reader how the devil is portrayed. “The Devil and Tom Walker” depicts the devil as a black man dressed in some form of Indian garments and he looked like he worked with fire. In detail, the man is described as this: “The stranger was neither negro nor Indian.
In addition to the use of alliteration in the sentence, hyperbole was also apparent in this sentence by the use of the words “evil”, “wicked” and, in particularly, “devils” when referring to the western world and the white race. However, as clarified before, the western world was merely a synonym for the white race, meaning that the words “evil” and “wicked” also referred to white people. In addition to alliterations and hyperboles, metaphors were literally used throughout the entire speech. In fact, the speech itself was an extended metaphor referring back to religious scripture. He used this extended metaphor to positively portray the black community while negatively portraying the white community.
The face of the mask is showed to have neuro eyebrows with cat like eyes. The top of the head mask is the cobra with fine detail work. The mask is a very complexed mask in very many ways from the structure of the head mask to the hand painted out lines of the mask.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein follows the story of a man, Victor Frankenstein, who created a monster. Along Victor’s journey, he meets Captain Walton who cares for him, and in return Frankenstein warns him about the dangers of knowledge. Frankenstein’s quest for knowledge reveals that knowledge can be beneficial yet dangerous. The only benefit of knowledge is to no longer desire answers. Victor is warning Captain Walton against probing too deep into knowledge, for he himself was endangered by it.
This quote relates to the story “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst because the narrator learns that pride isn’t always a good trait to have, it can harm the people you love. The narrator of “The Scarlet Ibis” states that “pride is a wonderful, yet terrible thing” to possess. He proves this through the relationship between the two brothers. The narrator of the story proved that pride is a terrific trait to possess. This is the beautiful face.
The most significant examples are towards the climax and the end of the play. Proctor is a perfect example of a tragic hero.
