Some people may wonder how, with such low prices, Wal-Mart can sustain such a large profit margin. Well according to Jim Hightower, that answer lies within Wal-Mart’s workforce. Hightower believes that Wal-Mart is tricking its workers into thinking they are, “one big, happy family,” when in reality those workers are being exploited. This policy unjust! This is unfair to dedicated workers working in Wal-Mart, bussing hard to earn $7.25 an hour. As Wal-Mart companies continue to grow, it drives out many small business. Americans do not know the negative impact Wal-Mart has on America because they are lured by their low prices. This not only drives out small business, but hurts the community as well.

Union Policy A lot of controversy has been raised around Wal-Mart because of the anti-union policy they have in practice throughout their corporation. The anti-union policy that Wal-Mart has in place, does not support the formation of unions, defined as groups created to help people voice their problem that have developed in the workforce, concerning wage, labor and safety laws. Wal-Mart is against the formation of unions and what the unions “fight” for. Some corporations are against unions, and some support them in belief that they workers can constructively change the way they are treated. Compare and Contrast Generally speaking, when you compare Walmart to Target you find that they both have several common attributes. You can find either or both stores usually within one or two hundred miles of just about everywhere here in the US. Both stores carry the same kind of items. The documentary claims that when the consumption of these programs by Walmart employees is tallied up, the costs to the taxpayer is approximately $1,557,000,000. Walmart employees are unable to unionize to fight for better benefits and wages because Walmart is relentless with the resistance or elimination of union representation in a location.

The management of Wal-Mart emphasises on price leadership in every market since pricing strategy is the direct approach to reach performance and attract customers.
