3.1 Case study
The following case has been taken from the Walter Isaacson (2011), a book on Steve jobs.
After jobs corrected the company, jobs started taking his “top 100” individuals on a withdraw every year. On the most recent day, he would remain before a whiteboard and ask, “What are the ten things we ought to be doing next?” People would battle to get their recommendations on the rundown. Jobs would record them and after that check off the ones he declared stupid. After much moving, the group would concoct a list of 10. At that point Jobs would slice the base seven and publish, "We can just do three."
Part of Jobs' impulse to take liability for what he called "the entire gadget" originated from his identity, which was extremely regulating.

As many experts have mentioned about Steve Job’s leadership style about dysfunctional management which was not too formal or hierarchical and a more results-driven approach. This dysfunctional aspects could bring the company and employees to disaster situations. Thus, the formal leader of Apple should practise more functional leadership styles and move away from the former CEO leadership styles which was not concern for all employees and stakeholders
2. Comparing Steve Jobs leadership style to Bill Gates’, Jobs was less participative. He should have been more indulgent and interactive with his employees. His leadership should also have been more flexible and smooth.
3. Steve Jobs, as a leader, should have been more modest rather than being overconfident. He did not consider Microsoft as a threat. Although he was a high risk taker, he did not believe in competition. He should have been less complacent and more competitive.
4. Steve Jobs’ leadership style was autocratic and dictatorial. He fired people without any notice. He should have been more amicable and less autocratic towards his employees.
5. As mentioned in the above case, Jobs was very impatient and petulant, which is not a sign of a good leader. Hence he should have handled tough situations very calmly and patiently.
