The Warm Hearth Village is a nonprofit community nursing home that was established in 1974. It is located at 2387 Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg in the state of Virginia. The facility was as a result of an idea by its founders Wybe and Marietje Kroontje (Retire.org). The two were Dutch immigrants who moved into the United States after the World War II. Mr. Wybe also sought counsel of George Washington Litton when the nursing home was being established (Fontenot and Minish). Warm Hearth Village was a way of Wybe and Marietje Kroontje to give back to the society. They were grateful for the good life that they had in the United States and their wanted to do something for the country as well.
