Though it can be argued that Romeo is the main cause of Romeo and Juliet's death, Friar Lawrence could also be at fault for this tragedy because of his recklessness and involvement. However, Friar Lawrence ultimately is not the main cause of their deaths because it was Romeo's irrational thinking that got him and Juliet killed. Romeo makes many bad decisions that lead to his death. He kills Tybalt which results in him being banned from Verona. This results in him not knowing about the plan. When he hears about Juliet's death his immediate response is to buy poison and go to her tomb.
