The Civil War, fought from 1861 to 1865, was known to be one of the most deadly wars. The destruction of the war caused many deaths and also many families to be torn apart. Several people believe that the Civil war could have been avoided and countless lives could have been saved. However, I believe that the Civil War was inevitable because of the different beliefs between the North and the South over economics and slavery. The Civil war was bound to happen because of the dissimilarities between north and south over economics. In the first half of the nineteenth century, economic differences increased. When the cotton gin was invented, it had caused the south to have a totally different economic path than the north. (246). Eventually, the
The years between 1877 and 1900 were some of the most momentous and dynamic in American history. They set developments in motion that would shape the country for generations, starting with the reunification of the South and North, the integration of four million newly freed African Americans, westward expansion, immigration, industrialization, and urbanization. In addition, it was also a period of reform, in which many Americans sought to regulate corporations and shape the changes taking place all around them. Before the Civil War however, things were much different. Before the Civil War, the south was mainly agriculturally based and relied on slaves and plantations to make income.
Therefore, the question is not if the Civil War was inevitable, but at what point did it become inevitable? Once we find that point, it might be easier to see through the possible course of events. It is also a serious undertake since no-one can predict anything for sure. Thus, this speculation is just another way of fiddling with the idea without any hard evidence or outcome from dealing with the question. What is more important to ask: what would have happened to America if the Civil War did not happen?

The American Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865 due to controversy about slavery which led to deaths of over 600,00 people. Controversy in the U.S. split it in half, the North and the South. The bloodiest battle happened to be in Gettysburg and there is no way you can have a war without it being bloody and gross.
Back then, it was near impossible to imagine the North and South getting along considering they were polar opposites. At this time in history, the South was largely a plantation and agricultural economy with a slow rising population. The North, on the other hand, heartily embraced an industrial economy and the population was tremendous. The United States was essentially two separate nations forced to coexist as one. It was the infringement on states’ rights and collapse of the two party system, that made the disagreements between the North and the South nearly impossible to solve and made the Civil war inevitable.
Before the Civil War, the North and South had major conflicts with each other on the topic of slavery. The North thought slavery was morally wrong and the South thought slavery was the natural way of life. All of this tension led to the Civil War being completely inevitable. Contrasting beliefs on slavery led to violence, even between honored leaders in the U.S.
