There are several hoses on a washing machine, the most common being the fill and drain hoses. The fill hose connects the household water supply to the inlet valve of the machine. This hose is normally located at the rear side of the machine. Make sure the threaded hose is tightened securely and it is not causing a leak. Also, check the condition of drain hose as it may not be installed properly. Washing machines also have internal hoses that connect the tub to the inlet valve. This switch is usually located behind the control panel of the machine and it has an air dome or hose that connects it to the tub. If your washer uses electronic controls, this water level switch may be located below the tub in the sump area. When the water fills the tub, it will compress the air inside the tube and will push the diaphragm inside the water level switch. The will turn off the valve and help in maintaining the correct water level. If the tube is leaking, there may not be enough pressure to turn off the valve and the machine may overfill and leak.
