1 WHAT IS WASTE DISPOSAL
1.1 Waste disposal is the removing and destroying or storing of damaged, used or otherwise unwanted domestic, agricultural and industrial products and substances. There are multiple types of waste disposal with their own positives and negatives for them, these include Landfill, burning, recycling. Waste Disposal affects all countries differently and must choose a suitable form of waste disposal their works with their economic positioning, their level of technology, their population size and the impact on the environment it will cause. Not every one of these can be perfectly solved and compromising is required to come to the best situation but this solution quite often leaves out the environmental impact and will lead on to several issues further down the track for animals. plants and humans.
2 EFFECTS ON THE COUNTRY
2.1 First world countries will often rely on the waste disposal system of landfill which is burying waste material underground. This requires more space to be devoted to landfills and decreases the available land for residential, commercial or agricultural facilities to be built leading to a lack of

Municipal wellbeing is when the town or district feels happy, healthy and combatable. This is affected when you find a city with poor sanitation and poor living conditions. This affects the economy of this town by not attracting any form of tourism or investors which will result in it being very hard to further develop to a point suitable for tourism and investment. Another economic issue is when countries do not use recycling they miss out on job and profit opportunities by being able to employ more workers increasing the flow of money and strengthening the economy. Recycling also provides small amounts of profit by selling to companies who will then repurpose them and then sell them resulting in a strengthened and functioning
However that does that help with the obvious problem which is excess consumption that leads to environmental and human hazards. Waste Land shows how the rich exploit the poor for their own
People should be able to feel good about the places they live in. The easiest thing to do can be to recycle
Heather Rogers in “The Hidden Life of Garbage” (LG Kirszner, SR Mandell eds. Patterns for College Writings 13th ed. Boston: Bedford, 2015) argues that the waste treatment facilities provide efficient means for garbage disposal, but in the long run the waste would tarnish the future public, and the public should reduce their wastage amount. The “sanitary landfills” are guarded away from the public’s eye, and the garbage from metropolitan cities is disposed in rural areas at increasing rates. Geological Reclamation Operations and Waste Systems (GROWS) is responsible for the three hundred feet tall pile of waste near Pennsylvania, this pile of garbage symbolizes America’s intemperate consumption and wasting habits.
Id. Because of the vast population of people living in these cities, any mismanagement of the waste could lead to catastrophic results. Further, without a holistic system in place in these cities, the system could be abused, manipulated, and exploited. But by running the only facilities in these cities, the state can effectively manage the system for the benefit of all.
There are dead animals and human waste all over the ground also. The cities are not very sanitary. This is a negative impact because diseases will spread easier because people are living in filth.(Entry 7)
These include floods and droughts. However, the most concrete impact recently has been by drought. The government and the people have not been able to provide enough food supply for themselves. Due to the growth
In “The Hidden Life of Garbage,” Heather Rogers writes about the waste disposal in the United States and how dangerous is getting. Land dumping has been the main disposal method for many years because of the low cost. She writes how landfill is a designed construction in which the trash is far away from the environment. Therefore, isolation is accomplished with a bottom liner and a daily covering of soil. She also says that a sanitary landfill uses a clay liner to isolate the trash from the environment.
Lenares, Recy Anne C. Mortillero, Clim M. BODY English 23 (11:00-12:30PM) May 12, 2015 The earth is suffering from many calamities, such as typhoons, earthquakes, floods, etc., made by the people without responsibly knowing how to prevent such. Recycling is one of the best ways to prevent this from happening.
There is the opportunity for a cleaner planet, and the way for that to happen is to recycle. Therefore, recycling is valuable to people in any society on
One of the major impacts it has to the county is its environment. Environment is our surroundings (nonliving or living things around us). For example a tree is apart of our environment. It is very essential e to protect their environment around us because one day it will all disappear and especially when people need it the most. It has affected the environment by have deforestation problems.
What exactly is biohazardous waste? Well it refers to materials that are biological and can stand as a threat to health. This can also be known as infectious waste or biomedical waste. There are various examples of biohazardous wastes, one most common is, those coming from animals, or animal waste; carcasses and body parts, or any bedding material used by animals that are infected with pathogenic organisms. This waste is classified by four differents levels, level one is the negligible threat to humans, level two is a critical virus in humans (transmitted through direct level four is when those pathogens stand as a huge danger to diseases that follow with no contact with materials that are infected), level three is when pathogens cause diseases,
Every day we bag and throw away our trash, but never really think about where it actually goes. The trash is emptied into the garbage trucks back where the worker throws it and it is compressed. The garbage has this stop called the “transfer station” (Rogers 188) which unloads it. According to the author of the essay Heather Rogers in “The Hidden Life of Garbage” (188), landfills and trash that are building every day are making the environment polluted, which is truly astonishing.
Recycling reduces the rate of pollution, and pollution affects human conditions. As an example, in a landfill, the chemicals that are decomposing are releasing air toxins, harming human's senses. Hydrogen sulfate gases are an example of harmful chemicals, and these gases can cause respiratory problems and irritation in the eyes and nose. When the waste material that could be recycled is burned, that process also releases a whole mass of toxins that people breathe. Finally, recycling helps people in terms of health and
Industrial and capital hubs in developing countries are similarly characterized by multiple urban sprawls, informal settlements and overcrowding. The local governments or municipalities in many developing countries are highly challenged by mainly poor or weak policy and legislative provisions to regulate and enforce waste management guidelines. They also lack adequate funding and the correct capacity in terms of waste management personnel. All these challenges lead to situations where these local authorities are failing to take effective decisions with regards to solid waste management. It is worth noting that the decisions which municipalities are facing in terms of managing solid waste are not only difficult and capital intensive but they impact greatly on the natural environment as well as on social lives of people, therefore solutions to this issue are a matter of
Introduction People tend to consume a lot, when there is consumption, there is waste – and that waste becomes a big problem that needs taken care of, which costs a lot of time, space and resources. If not managed, in turn, the world that we live in will become a hazardous place for all living things. According to the World Bank, people throughout the world, “spend $2.3 trillion a year on food and beverages alone” (Global Consumption Database, 2018), that is quite a lot. In addition to that, the world count mentions that, “we throw out over 50 tons of household waste every second. A number that will double by 2030”
