Every living thing has its own influence on its surrounding, especially human. Human is a creature at the top of the food chine; therefore, the environmental impact by human is inevitable. As technology developed, urban area expanded, and human population increased, our environment got worse. This phenomenon happened in my hometown, Lishui. In this city, local inhabitants’ activities created water, land and air pollution caused insufficient resources, and destroyed habitat and biodiversity. Lishui is a prefecture-level city on the southwest of Zhejiang province. As a prefecture-level city, it can group into one municipal district, seven counties, and one county-level city. Lishui’s area covers latitude 27° 25' to 28° 57' N and longitude 118° …show more content…

Many inorganic chemicals from industry and agriculture can lead to water pollution because they contain harmful elements other than carbon and they are not easy to degrade or break down. Similar with other cities, Lishui’s industrial district builds next to river. Because businesses want to reduce the fee of effluent discharge, some industrial facilities use pipes discharging effluent directly into river. Every barber knows that effluent contains toxic elements and these elements will influence the health of human and other creatures. Agriculture also caused water pollution. For higher income and lower cost, farmers prefer to use pesticides to kill pests. In fact, pesticides is most efficient and cheapest tool to keep either vegetables or crops away from pests’ destroy, but most of pesticides are poisonous and they are easily dissolve in surface water and percolate into groundwater. Expect industry and agriculture, every human being contributes on water pollution. Sewage is wastewater from toilets, washing machines, and showers; it also includes human wastes, soaps, and detergents. The sewage which carries disease-causing agents always release into water, then drain into …show more content…

Fortunately, Lishui has better air quality than other major cities. In 2015, Lishui’s air quality came second in Zhejiang Province; furthermore, the yearly AQI average was 93.3% and the average concentration of PM2.5 was 36g per cubic meter. Nevertheless, this developing city still faces air issue. The main human sources of primary pollutants are emitted directly into the air from mobile source such as cars and stationary source like industrial smokestack. Trucks and automobiles, known as mobility sources, can originate a great amount of nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides, particulate matter, and hydrocarbons as the result of gasoline combustion. Trucks, buses, trains, and ships produce more air pollution even though their diesel engines consume less fuel than other types of combustion engines; for example, one heavy-duty truck emits as much particulate matter as 150 automobiles. The stationary sources such as industrial facilities emit sizable amounts nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, particulate matter, and carbon oxides. The chemical industry, the paper industry, and the metal industry are the top three industrial sources of toxic air pollutants, the chemicals released into the air, and the fatal to humans. All the chemical matter and gas that generated by automobiles and industrial facilities will expose in air, these
