Abstract What type of bacteria or fungi or found on hands. There are ways to find out what lives on your hand one is taking a swab form your hand and put it on a petri dish allow thing to grew. This lab we found mainly yeast as for the fungi petri dish and for bacteria there was Staphylococcus epidermidis on the hand. So, after doing all of this we learned that there are many things living on your hand and that most of them are harmful. The thing that we found are commonly found in every hand and don’t harm us if indigested.
All the samples were collected in a sterile container and transferred to the laboratory. One gram of soil sample was suspended in 10ml of distilled water and one ml of curd was taken and these samples were mixed thoroughly (gravity cream was removed from curd samples as it may cause contamination of other microbes) and emulsification of the samples was done using 10ml of 1% sodium carbonate solution (freshly prepared) and was kept at 37ºC for 24 hours for incubation. This prevents the growth of gram-negative organisms (Dundar et al., 2003). These samples were then subjected to serial dilution up to 10-6 dilutions. From dilutions 10-4 to 10-6 , 0.1 ml of each sample was spread onto nutrient agar plates containing 0.0016% (w/v) sodium azide and were kept for incubation at 37ºC for 24-48 hrs.
Inducing Prodigiosin Transposon mutagenesis in Serratia Marcescens Introduction Serratia Marcescens is an opportunistic pathogen, mainly of healthcare facilities but can also be found in many diverse environments. Serratia is a gram negative bacteria which can give it innate resistance to certain antibiotics, especially those that target peptidoglycan cell wall synthesis, due to its outer membrane. In an environment with different microorganisms competing for food Serratia holds a component that gives it another selective advantage. The bacteria contains a red pigment called prodigiosin, that has antibacterial, antifungal, and even antiprotozoal activity. The pigment is produced due to quorum sensing of bacteria, when an appropriate level of N-hex
A few of parasites were flattened on a clean slide under the slight pressure of a cover glass & fixed in Alcoholic Bouin,s fluid for 12 hours. Stains like Gover,s Carmine, Mayer’s Para carmine & Haemalum were used for the preparation of whole mounts for identification & the study of reproductive organs. The smears were prepared from the living material by puncturing the ovary with two fine steel needles under the stereoscopic binocular microscope. The semi fluid contents were allowed to spread over the clean slide & then the slide is inverted over the fixative without losing much time. After fixation with sublimate acetic the material is washed for 20-24 hours in running water.
Tea Tree Oil Spray To get ready splash utilizing tea tree oil, you will require water, vinegar, and tea tree oil. Vinegar has various properties and in this way, deals with the pH of the scalp (31, 32). Fill an unfilled shower bottle with water. Include a couple of drops of tea tree oil to it and splash on your head. Cover your head with a warm towel and abandon it for 15 minutes.
The bacteria were heat-killed, and these respective components were extracted and the composition resulted in being similar to that of DNA. They also treated the bacteria with multiple enzymes, such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, ribonuclease and deoxyribonucleodepolymerase, where it was found that only the deoxyribonucleodepolymerase inhibited the formation of smooth Pneumococcus colonies. [Downie. A. W. (1972)] Thus, they confirmed that DNA was the transformation principle in Griffith's experiments. The Avery and MacLeod experiment was replicated in the laboratories at the University of the Witwatersrand.
PROTEIN ENGINEERING AND ENZYME TECHNOLOGY REPORT : COMPARISON OF ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF HANDSANITIZERS BY: HINA ASLAM BUTT (MBS153005) SIDRA AZAM (MBS153001) DEPARTMENT OF BIOSCIENCES AND BIOINFORMATICS Mohammad Ali Jinnah University Islamabaad INTRODUCTION Hand hygiene is one of the primary methods used to reduce the fecal-oral transmission of infectious agents [1]. Hand hygiene is now regarded as one of the most important element of infection control activities [2]. The CDC known as Clean Hands Campaign as cited in the Mayo Clinic Website recommends washing hands or sanitizing before preparing food, eating, treating wounds or giving medicine, touching a sick or injured person, inserting
During our water filtration lab, we were instructed to design our own water filters in order to filter out as many particulates and living organisms to make the dirty pool water as pure as possible. Our water filter test consisted of a 2L soda bottle that we cup the top off and inverted to make a funnel. We then built our filter bottom up, starting with a rubber banding a coffee filter to the bottom as a final catch-all for the finest particles. In the nozzle of the bottle we stuffed 2 cotton balls. On top of the cotton balls we placed 4 cotton pads.

It includes a lesser amount of preparation than most traditional methods, and is one of a few methods that will permit the isolation and enumeration of microorganisms. The MF Technique also provides incidence or nonexistence information within 24 hours. In addition to its use by government labs for monitoring drinking water, the MF Technique is also used for microbial monitoring in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, electronics, and food and beverage industries. The MF Technique is used in these industrial labs to monitor the presence of microorganisms in process waters and final product. The pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries typically focus on monitoring their process water for Pseudomonas species.
