One of All State’s biggest advantages over other company is their slogan, “You’re in Good Hands”. Allstate wants to convey the idea that they are going to take care you of, and you have nothing to worry about. The authors, tell a story about how Allstate sales manager, came home from the hospital from seeing the doctors for his daughter, and said “‘The hospital said not to worry… we’re in good hands”. This is the same feeling, impression Allstate intends to give off, and it is a strength.
Also a strength, the man the says the slogan, Dennis Haysbert. It’s hard to say which is more famous, the slogan it self or the man, Dennis, speaking in the deep voice. What are the differences in products for the different companies. At the end of the day, regardless of how great your commercial is, if the actual product your company doesn’t satisfy your customer, you’ll never grow. Therefore we can assume each company offers similar products at around similar pricing.

The problem for Allstate lies with their competitive advantage. Having a competitive advantage over your opponent, means doing something better that puts you in a more favorable position. Consider the strengths of Allstate, Dennis Heysbart, their slogan, Mayhem. These three concepts help make Allstate the strong company that it is today. But I wouldn’t consider these strength competitive advantages because other companies have very similar. State Farm has a slogan similar. And majority of all auto insurance companies have a recognizable mascot. Therefore everyone is on similar playing fields.

Different sections are highlighted through relevant posters and background pictures. All sections in this departmental store are designed in way that they attract every new comer to it but cosmetics section is designed in a way that it is prominent and visible from every side.
