In this chapter, we discuss the studies conducted on well-being of teachers and what are the fators that related with the well being of teachers. The frequency of experience of positive feelings such as happiness, joy and pleasure more than negative and unpleasant feelings describes the well-being of a person. The well-being is a balance between the positive or pleasurable feelings and negative or unpleasant feelings in life (Christopher, 1999).

The purpose of this essay is to pick apart Mill’s essay and to give my own personal opinion about happiness. Stuart believed that you could achieve happiness by helping others achieve happiness and by finding things that you enjoy in life. I believe the key to happiness is helping other people achieve their happiness, do things that you enjoy doing, and looking at things in the brightest way possible. I honestly believe that everyone wakes up in the morning wanting to be happy, I have never seen a person who wakes up saying, “ I want to have an absolutely miserable day today”. It is human nature to strive for happiness and do things that you enjoy to do.
The definition of happiness in the Webster Dictionary “feeling pleasure and enjoyment because of your life, situation, etc.” This is what we think happiness is, its right. We all have felt the feeling of being happy. We love it, most of us want to be happy all the time. Then, there's Unhappiness/sadness, the worst thing ever.

Teachers with psychological well-being have a goal of life and they are capable of how to achieve goal, it means that person identified the meaning of life (Roothman, Kirsten, & Wissing, 2003). Models of psychological wellbeing • Peterson (2010) found that different psychologist have worked on manipulating abnormal emotional states, psychological distress and other abnormal actions. Many theories have also introduced therapies and cure of psychological distress.

Teaching is often the lowest paid career. Therefore Alderfer’s theory is likely to motivate teachers to higher levels of performance. Based on Alderfer’s theory needs are met based up existence, relatedness, and growth (Kinicki, 2013). According to Alderfer’s theory on growth people have the need to feel as though their work is challenging (Kinicki, 2013). People have the need to feel that within their work environment they are able to be creative with and self-fulfillment (Arnolds,2002).
Choosing to Live Happily Does it ever appear to you as if people live their lives trying to attain happiness? The decisions people make every day seem to revolve around what will make them the happiest. No one knows the true meaning of happiness but we all want to have it. Many people try to attain happiness through actions or things. Some people buy everything that they want to try and make themselves happy.
In one of my courses, social organizational psychology, it shaded light on organizational behaviors. In the class, there are many theories to improve well-being of the people in organization. To understand more about it and know how to apply those theories in real life organizational problem, I have a chance to interview my own mother about her problem in the work life. She works at PTT Public Company Limited, one of the most famous petroleum company in Thailand. It is the company which has large number of employees and contains many departments.
Thomas Jefferson once said, "Determine never to be idle... It is wonderful how much we can get done if we are always doing." Working constantly can be hard. We all should try to balance work and play. Resting is not a bad thing as long as we continue to complete a task.
How do you know what truly makes you happy and what can you do to get to that level of content? This is a question majority of society sits and ponders on. Happiness is very subjective. For instant, you can have an individual who has one thing that makes them happy. Then that very same thing that makes them happy can make another individual very unhappy.
Think of some favorite memories or objects: the first love, favorite pet, favorite foods, or maybe even a good vacation. What do all of these have in common? When recalled, these memories or objects bring a sense of happiness that makes one think fondly of these things. Happiness is an emotion that the human race strives for. This essay will explained the kind of teacher professional identity promoted by SACE and COTEP under the pillars of curriculum 2005 and NQF forming part of the white paper 1995 in redefining identity and difference in the education system after 1994 and it will also discuss how this identity did not and could not match the realities on the ground. Professionalism is the personal effort to act in a job that reveals fitting attitudes, behaviors and practices of the job. In teaching these attitudes may be: “having specialized knowledge which is the content knowledge and the ability to teach were teachers gain this on a lengthy period of higher education which is a four years to obtain the B ed degree were in the lengthy period teachers in the making learn to focus client interest maintaining a high level of responsibility learning and obtaining the ethical code of conduct” (SAIDE, 2010). By producing good quality results a teacher will be showing professional skills. Professionals require considerable freedom or autonomy to make judgments because they have to draw on knowledge based skills It is also showing that you believe in being professionally autonomous while accountable to the standards of you practice by having professional control over the credentials and the entry to teaching” ( SAIDE, 2010).
You probably believe that getting what you want will make you happy, but it 's just a lie that we are told as children by our parents to get us to conform. "If you do what I want I 'll give you your toy and you can only be happy with your toy." As grownups, this carrot gets dangled in front of our noses in form of a job, friends, and relationships, and we do our best to conform to the expectations of others because we were led to believe that they have what we need to be happy. In reality, changing yourself to conform to other 's expectations takes you further aways from the happiness, love, and connection you so desperately need because it 's not really you who 's getting those things.
