In concert, Selena’s sexy bustiers and taunting and her pouty smiles earned her the nickname “the Tex-Mex Madonna.” Mid-1991 Selena and Chris Perez, who had recently began playing guitar, they admitted they had romantic feelings for each other, and their relationship began. April 2, 1992 they got married.

Selena was born April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson. In 1981, she became the lead singer in her family’s band, “Selena Y Los Dinos”. Her band consisted of her brother, the bass guitarist; her sister, the drummer; herself, lead singer; and her father as manager of the group.
Selena Quintanilla was a young, beautiful, and well-loved singer, that became the Queen of Tejano and I want to know how she got her success and the honor of becoming the Queen of Tejano and how she was murdered. The Queen of Tejano was born on April 16, 1917, she was a Texas girl. She matured into a young adult with her father. Her father had a band and at age 10 she was the leader of the band. Selena was a talented young woman.

Notwithstanding, Tejano music has not been the only genre developed in the Texas area by the Mexican Americans. Jazz, a music considered truly ‘American’; a mix of African-American rhythms such as ragtime, blues and gospel, has also been interpreted by the community, ingrained with their own style, their own sabor.
But, that all changed when she started to become popular among Tejano music fans. Leading her to win “best female vocalist of the year” and “performer of the year” at the Tejano Music Awards.
