Sports can help build a healthier body, better citizenship, learn to enjoy the process, helping students success at a very high level, and learn to set a goal. In order to help students have more motivation and enjoy to go to school, sports should be a part of the curriculum in American High
It is valuable because it keeps kids healthy and fit. My next reason is that it allows kids to learn to face competition, and teaches them to work as a team. The last reason is that it raises self-esteem level, improves self-confidence, and helps kids deal with pressure. If kids join competitive sports it would create a much more developed society. It will lead to more developed, hardworking individuals.
Kids should play competitive sports because competitive sports teach children powerful life lessons, contributes to their social and mental stability, and because of the physical gain competitive sports provides. The first reason that kids should participate in competitive sports is that sports teach kids valuable morals. By learning these morals and life lessons from an early age, they are more likely to start using them in the future
In the article, Is Four Days Better Than A Five Day School Week, the author states, “ ‘ Our ACT scores at the best they've been in 10 years, and our love it,’ said Chris” (https://newsela.com/articles/school-fourday/id/1002/). This quote helps explain why we should have a four day week. This isn't the only reason though. In addition, not only are tests scores better, but also student attendance. In the article, The Four Day School Week, by Don Kordosky, the author states, “ Attendance in some schools increased 3% as against available instructional hours” (Crosscut: "The Four-day school week: why less really is more").
Many people believe that students that are involved in a high school sport affect their grade and test scores. At most high schools in America, sports are very popular and an important role in a student’s school years. High school sports have a positive impact on students and schools everywhere. Students have a better chance in succeeding in school while playing in a high school sport. First, high school sports are positive because it has great impact on both the student’s education and sports participation.
“According to a 2013 report from the Institute of Medicine, physically active kids are more focus than other kids.” This proves that stepping away from your books and going to practice can sharpen your brain. “A 2012 study by the Datalys Center found that young athletes have higher scores in math and english that the ones who aren't in sports.”This proves that
In my opinion, I think that competitive sports in school have a lifetime of benefits. In this article Kevin Kniffin states that, “Research shows that people who play high school sports get better jobs, with better pay.” In my essay I will be explaining how people who play sports get better jobs and better pay, and how hiring managers expect more out of a former high school student who played sports. In my opposing side I will be explaining how in the worlds smartest countries, school is about learning. However, this minor argument still leads me to the side of Kevin Kniffin. People who played sports in high school will most likely get a better pay and a better job.
Did you know athletes in high school have 11% higher graduation rates and have up to 40 percent higher test scores that non athletes. Sports in high school are important and give kids more of a chance at succeeding in life and they should stay in high school to help kids find what they are best at. Sports can also help kids gain confidence in what they do a science study shows and it can help them push themselves to be better people. Being active can also improve your grades and help you learn how to use teamwork in situations. Sports can also get you a scholarship to college and 40% more student athletes go to college than non-athletes.
This can be seen in “What Are the Benefits of Competitive Sports for Youth?” by Sarah Davis who states “Participating in sports teaches children and teenagers how to compete in the real world. As they grow older they'll face competition in school, in the workforce and other areas of life. But these competitions don't have to be negative or unhealthy. Playing sports can help kids understand how competition works in a friendly environment, and that if you try your hardest, you have a better chance to succeed”(Davis 2). This illustrates how competition is in any child’s life and sports just make them more prepared for said
For high school students they should start school a little later even by thirty minutes because then the students are more alert and awake for classes. One reason is if they start school later teenagers would be able to concentrate better and get higher test grades. "Evidence showed that starting school later improved the test scores by 2-3 percentile points". They would also miss less days of school so you would get most of your work done in school. "A studied showed that starting school even by a half and hour has helped health and academic benefit of teenagers".
I believe that the positives of being involved in middle school sports, by far, outweigh the negatives. Being involved in middle school sports help these children grow to be adults physically, emotionally, and socially. According to the CDC many children in the United States are obese and overweight. Middle school sports encourage children to stay physically active and fit. This could reduce some of the obesity in the United States.
As for the present, Cadet Command is also responsible for the Junior ROTC. Today, there are over 1600 JROTC units and over 274,000 cadets. Both totals are historic highs. JROTC has an enormously positive effect on our youth, helping young people from across the socio-economic spectrum. Cadets graduate from high school at a higher rate, have higher GPAs and get in trouble less frequently than their classmates.
