Ultralight Hiking and Backpacking
Many people automatically think their hiking life has to be put on hold as soon as they have kids. This isn’t the case. Hiking is something you can share with almost anyone, including your young kids. The trick is to plan, and tailor your trip to your new and much smaller hiking partners.
Ultralight hiking makes hiking with kids much more doable. If your own gear is lighter, you’ll have more capacity to carry their gear, and them if needed. I love to hike with my wife and three-year-old twin girls. While hiking with my kids would have been possible using my old, heavy gear, the ultralight approach to hiking means we can all enjoy the experience more. Our lighter gear also means our choice of trails is greatly expanded because with less weight we can wander further and longer with our little ones.

On a recent camping trip with my family and a group of friends and their young children, someone asked if everyone had hiked as kids with their parents. It was a unanimous ‘yes’ from all the mums and dads present. While your kids may get into hiking on their own, the odds of them picking it up without you are quite low.
If you’re on the fence about taking your young kids hiking, I’d recommend you take the plunge. I was amazed at how much fun my kids had on their first hiking trip. They loved every minute of it, especially setting up camp, which they saw as their own special space. Being away from technology and the demands of everyday life also gives you the space to really connect with your kids on a deeper level.
Here is a menu of things to consider before heading out with your little ones.Make it
5. always pack flash lights preferably one for each family member. And don 't forget batteries. 6. make a kid friendly easy menu. Don 't get carried away and make things hard on yourself or your kids by trying lots of new recipes.
Why Bow Hunting is Exciting Imagine sitting in a tree stand with a bow in your hand and out of nowhere a large buck just comes around the trees. You then grab your arrow and you get ready then you slowly draw your bow back and hold it behind the deer’s shoulder and you wait for him to stop. Then when he stops you get ready and you release the arrow towards the deer. This could be you having the excitement of a deer walking out in front of you.
Children are not experiencing the outdoors the way they used to. It used to be that children would look out the window at the world when they went on road trips but now they are constantly absorbed by their electronic devices. The Last Child in the Wood by Richard Louv is making a very strong argument on this topic. Richard Louv is concerned with making sure children make the same connections about nature that many generations have made before them. In this piece Louv used rhetorical questioning to draw attention to his most crucial points.
Have you ever got stuck contemplating if you’re spending enough time with your kids? Many parents don’t get to spend time with their children because of amount of work they have. But it is very important to because you are showing love and support torwards them. Even if it is taking a 10 minute walk, talk, or even play a game it shows them that you are attempting to spend time with them.
It was only when I went camping that I was happy with my life. My parents would let me roam around and
Spaces must tolerate movement and noise generated by the child. Children, like adults, are influenced in how they feel and behave by the total environment and the physical setting in particular. Adults notice order and cleanliness; children notice small spaces to crawl into or materials to make something out of. A large open area may be an invitation to run if it is of the right scale and proportion; but it also can create sense of fear and loneliness if the proportions are beyond in relation to children. The physical setting acts as a deciding factor- it can support and encourage a child’s curiosity or it can make the experience of exploration much harder for those who are physically incompatible to keep up with the
“Why am I doing this.” said Ron Tipton when he was walking the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. This is the question that pops up into everyone’s head when they are trying to complete the Appalachian Trail. Everything started off 10 days ago when Will Henderson decided to deter from the Appalachian Trail. He had been hiking all of his life, he is 39 years old, and is a part of the National Hiking Association. He had began his journey in Georgia and was unable to complete the trail but got all the way to Tennessee.

Family Background: I was born on January 11, 1999 in Miami, Florida. I spent most of my early childhood with my grandparents while my parents worked. My grandfather would wake up in the morning to make sure my brother and I went to school safe and by the time we finished there was always a homemade meal waiting for us, it was something I looked forward to. In spite of us having had a language barrier and them no longer being around the influence they instilled on me is tremendous. From them I learned to have the strength to deal with other challenging obstacles life had to offer.
