To me, there are many gifts that America has given to you and I. These gifts all might be taken for granted and not acknowledged by all of us, but they all make huge impacts in how we live our lives. These gifts can be our freedoms, our land, and our laws. Although these are all grand, I think that the biggest gift of all is being able to call all of these gifts ours. It is a gift being able to do this because we are able to live free lives, believe in what we like, and say what we like. However, all of these rights and gifts came at a price. The price of people who were willing and proud enough to fight. To fight for all that we have; our rights, freedom, and liberty. They fought for so many years and are still fighting for our
Before this, the colonists were never really trusted this much and just about everyone did not have a problem with the Bill of Rights. It benefited the safety and the colonist’s livelihood in general like they had never felt before. Some historians believe that the Bill of Rights was one of the most important factors in being able to legitimately call America the “land of the free”. The Bill of Rights also played a large role in establishing governmental policies and laws which outline our way of life even today. The Bill of Rights is still in effect today and will hopefully always be, just as our founding fathers meant for them

There are many things that people in current and past society take for granted, such as housing, food, and freedom. The thing that is important to remember though, is that these things that people take for granted are all a part of their basic human rights. Human rights means the rights which every human being owns. Thought, after many years of defining these rights also a few people are not applying to them and a few people are all set to violate them. It is not possible for human rights to be actualized because people are treated cruelly.
These unalienable rights gave people a frame of mind of what they wish was best fitted for them. This also provided a sense for revolution. In the Declaration of Independence, it states that, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness.” (Jefferson 1) In short, the government shouldn't take these things away from you.

The ratification of the US Bill of Rights took place in 1789. The Bill of Rights supply citizens of the US with inalienable rights that they are born with and acquire if they immigrate. Since it was ratified, there have been several occasions in which these rights have been infringed upon during times of conflict, in which the United States government attempts to shield the nation from conflicting issues inside or even outside the country because of fear. The government believes that this unconstitutional action to restrict citizens’ rights must be done to protect citizens of the United States, but in an attempt to protect others, many become mistreated.
Living in America is a privilege considering all of the rights we, U.S. citizens are given. These rights include freedom of speech, freedom of press, trial by jury, right to bare arms, right to vote and so many more basic things people should be given. But back in the colonial era the colonists didn’t have any of these rights that they thought were “unalienable rights” meaning every person should have them and they can't be taken from us, so they fought for those rights. And because of this war we now have so many rights that we take granted of every day and love. Some of these important rights also include the right to a capitalistic economy and a fair chance at wealth and gain.
Because of the conflicts that were occurring during the 1800’s some races did not feel as if they were Americans. The Civil War began on April 12, 1861, ending April 9, 1865. Since having the right of being an American during the 1800 's, whites felt most in control/most common over different races. . Until this day many citizens still believe that a race is more important than the other. Being classified as an American was a major issue during the 1800’s then it is today.
Once upon a time, being American was the greatest honor in the world. With heads held up, people could proudly declare their heritage and feel their hearts swell at the sight of a billowing striped flag. Soldiers’ boots could touch foreign earth knowing the blood spilled would be for a nation that was more than deserving. But that was years ago; now, what does this country have worthy of a human life? Next to nothing.
It is very easy to take out country and or freedom for granted. For those of use that have always lived here and never seen anything different it is almost impossible to to fully realize how good we really have it. We were not given anything we have today however, it took an extreme amount of hard work and dedication by the leaders of our past. It is impossible to discuss how this country achieved what we have now today without talking about George Washington. Our first presidents, the man who really pulled our country together and helped lay the ground work that we still live by today.
There have been many gifts given from America in my generation. The one I cherish the most, is all the sacrifices Americans in the generations before mine have given. I consider them gifts because those sacrifices are what made America what it is today. It all started when the first colonists came over from Great Britain to start the new colonies. They lacked most of the skills needed to even survive in the new world, yet they still wanted to try.
America is spoken highly by both those who reside in the United States and those who do not. It’s the land of living hope, woven dreams, aflame with longing and desire (Anzia Yezierska) “Here we are to be free from the dread drudgery for bread that held me down in Russia (17).” America represents the land of the free. Freedom of speech and expression, religion, healthy peacetime life and freedom from fear (Franklin D Roosevelt 44).
America has given my generation many gifts. Some of those gifts include freedom and liberty. Other than freedom and liberty, America has given my generation many other rights including non violence. These gifts made me what I am today. America’s gifts to my generation mean a lot to me.
To All Veterans; To those that have served, from the birth of our great nation to our infinite future. To those that thought more of the lives of others more so than of their own lives. To the families that allow these one-in-a-hundred type men and women to serve and jeopardize their lives for the greater good of this distinguished nation. Today I’m thanking you and will forever be thanking you, for I’m proud to say I’m a free man, rather than under the control of tyranny and dictatorship. You have impacted this great nation in a way that at times is incomprehensible when considering what separates us from other nations across the world.
