The organization of law and civilization is what gives people the structure to maintain peace. The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding takes place during World War II; in the story a plane that is carrying boys ages 12 and younger gets shot down over an inhabited island: leaving the boys to fend for themselves. Originally the boys choose one leader, Ralph, but as the story goes on, the boys begin to split into two separate groups with Ralph being the leader of one group, and Jack being the leader of the other. Similarly, in the movie The Mist by Stephen King, people get stranded in a grocery store do to a mist the holds unearthly monsters.
