Regardless of the state or country populations there will always be the three types of parents; the permissive, neglectful and the authoritative. Children normally benefit the most from parents who are authoritative and less from parents who are permissive and neglectful.
The first type of parents is permissive; they practice indulgent parenting which is most likely harmful style of parenting to the children.

Authoritative parents have proofed to be the best given that they are closely monitoring their children’s growth physically, mentally and emotionally. They ensure that their children are able to fit well in the society by presenting mature traits at all times. It is one of the best parenting styles that each and every person should take up. Permissive parents are a bit similar to authoritative in that they are there for their children but they greatly pumper them. The children do what they want, they are not controlled by set rules and regulation in the house and more so they lack self discipline. Due to the pampering they are not able to form lasting relationships with their peers. The neglectful parents are the worst of the three in that; they don’t have time for their children, they at all times engaged in other activities and neglecting their children. The children are not controlled by any set rules and regulations and they learn most of the thing whether good or bad by themselves. Therefore as parents or those prospective parents need to make a choice of being a best type of parent who is ready to ensure their kids grow up in the best way

Throughout the movie, Parenthood, the three main parenting styles were displayed throughout as, the dictator, permissive, and democratic. The dictator form of parenting, also known as the authoritarian parent sets strict rules and guidelines and will not changing them or give any leeway. Children that have authoritarian parents usually have low self-esteem and trouble to do things on their own when they get older. Then there is the permissive parent, who rather than setting rules and guidelines, opts out of this, their discipline is not seen and if they do set rules, they don 't punish when the rules are broken. There is also a balance of good parenting seen in the democratic form.
Another example of the permissive parenting style shown
In the book The Glass Castle Jeannette Walls, the narrator displays her parent's parenting skills as authoritative. According to Cherry, Kendra. “Psychology: What They Are and Why They Matter.” The Four Styles of Parenting. she defines authoritative parents as being “... more nurturing and forgiving rather than punishment”.
People who become parents, generally understand that they have to raise their children in a certain way so that they will become healthy and functional members of society. Most of these parents also understand that if they do not give their children proper care and attention, their child may not have a successful future. Often times, parents would argue which method is the best to raise their child and which way is wrong. Everyone seems to have their own definition of parenting. Most people however, would disagree with the way Rex and Rose Mary Walls in The Glass Castle raised their children.
Permissive parenting style is when parents tend to be lenient and may only step in when there is a serious problem. There may be few consequences for misbehavior because parents have an attitude of "kids will be kids. " Permissive parenting is potentially a harmful style of parenting simply because permissive parents take on more of a friend role than a parent role. Few rules are set for the children of permissive parents, and the rules are inconsistent when they do exist. This lack of structure causes children to grow up with little self-discipline and self-control.
They are harsh when correcting bad behaviors. Kids have low self-esteem. -Permissive: Helps kids gain higher self-esteem and become less impulsive. This type of parent shows lots of love toward their children. They would rather be friends with their kids, not dictators, rulers or enamines.
Parenting is one of the most complicated, time-consuming full-time jobs in the world. According to Martin Davies, “Parenting or child rearing is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, financial, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood,” and although it is complicated and time consuming, there are only a few ways that parenting can be classified. Two of these parenting techniques are the authoritarian and permissive parenting styles. Both styles can be slightly effective, but neither are a better way to raise a child. Authoritarian parenting is a style of parenting in which the parents, or heads of the family have ultimate power and authority over the family as well as the family’s decisions.
According to Cherlin, “The authoritative parent combines high levels of emotional support with consistent, moderate control of their children” (p. 275). This style is different than the authoritarian or helicopter style as it does not involve control, but instead explained discipline. Leslie Kendall Dye exhibits this style when she defends herself after being scolded for being a permissive parent “I have no tolerance for rudeness, for whining, for unwarranted aggression. I talk to my child frequently about empathy and manners. She has chores each morning and evening, and I ferociously police the number of toys in our house” (par. 9).
Neither demandingness nor responsiveness is more important in parenting because they should both balance each other. First let’s view the levels of the four parenting styles in demandingness and responsiveness. Starting off with Authoritarian, they are exceptionally high in demandingness and low and responsiveness. Authoritative parents are equally as high in demandingness but also high in responsiveness. Neglectful/Indifferent parents
These are the type of parents who are military like. They enforce the rules and expect the child to obey. Permissive are parents who are unrestraining. These parents are the type to set no rules and let their children make their own decisions. Authoritative parents tend to be confrontive.
Like permissive parents, authoritative parents are responsive, nurturing, and involved. But unlike permissive parents, authoritative parents don’t let their children get away with bad behaviour. Authoritative parents take a firm stand, anticipating that their kids should carry on dependably. Like tyrant guardians, legitimate guardians uphold rules. As a psychologist, I feel that authoritative parenting style helps in developing their social behaviour while authoritarian degrades it.
Persuasive essay Parents should be permissive Instantly, several parents are struggling to find a way to raise their children effectively. Permissive parenting is one of their choices. Being permissive is treating children with plenty of love, caring and nurturing but not much authorities, rules or punishments. They might make their children lack of self-control or aggressive, but alongside with these disadvantages, there are also numerous benefits. Permissive parenting helps children to be successful, have the courage to achieve their dreams and gives parents greater understanding of their children.
Parenting is one of the most challenging and difficult responsibilities a person can confront. The way a family is structured is called the parenting style. Parenting styles are collections of parental attitudes, practices, and non-verbal expressions that qualify the nature of parent-child relationships. Because people learn how to parent from many different examples, including their own parents, character models, society and life experiences. Parenting techniques can change greatly from household to household, however, experts think that parenting styles can be worn down into four primary classes which include permissive, authoritarian, authoritative, and inattentive.
