1. Consider your strengths in general and refer to the group you had this year.
First of all, I think that it is very important to establish a very good rapport with your students for successful learning classroom environment. So I tried to build a good rapport with them and I think I made it.
Considering the groups I had this year, I was really patient in dealing with the students. During the first and the second month, I realised that 2nd year was going to be a little bit more difficult to deal with as some students’ level were not enough to be in that course and sometimes they were not willing to put the effort it takes to work and learn. Therefore, I did my best by being persistent and patient to help learners overcome those difficulties

Although I’ve worked with technology a lot as a student because I’ve learnt fantastic things at the Teacher Training College, I felt that there was never enough time to give learners the chance to go to the self-access and work with the computers. I felt that I was falling behind with the schedule so I gave more importance to that. Yes, I could improve on this next year. I got a lot of ideas and tools to bring into the classroom. I only have to manage time better to give the learners the chance to interact with …show more content…
The problem is that they do not only go to school and have English lessons. They have a lot of other activities and I understand that sometimes they find it difficult to cope with everything. They always have to do a lot of pieces of homework and writings at home because they are supposed to get enough marks that then go to the report card. And I gave them little things to study every week (2nd year) and sometimes they just couldn’t cope with it.
I should improve the area of writing assignments. I think that it is one of the weakest skills students have. I’m going to think of new ideas or ways that allow learners to cope with writing. Maybe a rubric for correction would be a great idea so that learners know what they have to improve and what they are good at.
Well, time management is a problem. I don’t like to go on with the syllabus if learners are still struggling with some concepts so I devote more time to those concepts. But then, I realise that I may be falling behind with the schedule.
3. What are your aims for the next
Build positive relationships with students will help establish a more comfortable classroom environment. Michie have put a great amount of effort at trying to get to know his students on a more personal level, such as through individual home visiting and personal questionnaires about each student’s likes and dislikes about school. In order for students to feel that the information is relevant to them, teachers should make connections and relate to real life examples. Michie uses his past classroom experiences to connect to his students and further sparks class discussion. Michie would try to relate to what the students were going through in their lives to get to know them better.
Students never have a complete experience except on the installment plan (Gatto, part I, pars 11). I received flashbacks from my childhood, when I knew there could have been additional work to do before the bell rang. I always ended up being swept away into a completely different environment to advance skills in a random field of knowledge. To counter my agreement, the set class times did help in my erudition to what studies I relished more and the areas which I felt were unbearable. This determined my time management based on interests outside of school.
Time management has been one of the most substantial hurdles of my scholastic and professional career. Many of us waste our time on things that are neither important nor necessary, instead of using that time for something of that is meaningful. To capitalize on the use of time management strategies and reach my Doctoral Business Administration (DBA) program goals. I will execute two specific time management strategies, for example, accessing and planning a weekly schedule while adjusting my daily schedule. Time management will help me maximize the use of my time and reach my ultimate DBA goals of completing each assignment.
Throughout the term there has been many writing assignments —big or small— that helped reflect my writing process or the process itself. In the beginning of the course I felt like I was an “ok” writer, but lacked some skills such as: organization, sentence variety, and vocabulary. Also, I did not like to write and had a feeling of dislike when forced to write. I felt like I improved on everything I wanted and was seen throughout the semester. I know how to organize my ideas, the worksheets given in class to work on sentence variety really helped, and vocabulary was built on some level.
I learned in this activity how crucial time management skills will be to my ability to complete this course successfully. The analysis from the questionnaire (Table 2) as well as keeping a record of what activities I focus on for a couple of days, opened my eyes to a few areas of improvement. From the patterns observed I could see that most of my time was taken up by work and commitments as well as procrastination. Not being able to juggle theses successful led to irritation and was unproductive. Research suggests that managing ones emotions, being self-aware and self-motivate can be factors for success for a student (Allan, 2009).
Lessons in class are rushed and left unfinished due to the tight time restraints placed upon teachers. They are given an inadequate amount of time to teach the excessive amount of material given to them to cover and, more often than not, they fall behind in their lesson plan, leaving them unable to teach all of the topics in each of their classes. Teachers struggle in reciting the entire lesson within the given time. With the extra fifteen to twenty minutes on their hands they could
lastly, my goal is to praise myself, give myself the recognition and support that I give everyone
I have two school aged children and as such, find balancing time with them and seeing to their needs with classes and assignments difficult, though not impossible. I know I have the ability, but occasionally find myself worrying about whether I am going to be able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the coursework in the time scales that have been set. I take time to write and think, and produce my best work. I pay much attention to detail and this slows me down sometimes. Workload and deadlines may require a hastened approach to work in some circumstances, something I will need to work on.
Outliers, written by Malcolm Gladwell, is an informational book regarding the intricacies of success and how it comes to fruition in individuals. Outliers has served to teach students the means of being successful and the importance of seizing opportunities as they come. Personally, Outliers has changed my views of success in numerous ways. Before reading said book, I had always assumed people who were naturally talented or had specific privileges were the only ones who could get far. However, Gladwell’s writing has informed me that anyone, if they are prepared to work hard, can reach their goals.
Time management is important to have because it helps get work done more efficiently and is a way to manage your priorities. Priorities along with making commitments are also learned from participating in a extra activity. Students learn how to prioritize their work when in activities while also finding a balance of everything else going on in their life; commitment is also learned but showing that a student needs to be 100% involved to put in their best effort to whatever they choose to do and to be be successful doing it. “Various research studies have lined participation in student activities to higher math and english grades, improved grades and homework completion, better performance on math, reading and science test, and an increased likelihood of applying to college” (Annemarie Mannion).
(1) Develop a strategy to enhance a high degree of collective efficacy among the new teachers and indifferents. What mastery experiences are needed, and how will you get them for your teachers? What kinds of models or other vicarious experiences should your teachers have, and where will they get them? What kind of activities will be useful to persuade teachers that they can improve the proficiency of their students? What kind of affective state is needed in your school to develop the collective efficacy that you need?
The students were highly engaged. I could say that the concepts to be learn were explicitly linked to ELLs’ background experience and past learning. I listened to the teacher’s speech and voice projection, it was appropriate (not too slow, not too fast), and she emphasized the importance of being respectful/active listeners. She ensured that each students had sufficient time to respond to her questions, and clarify if a student seemed confused (regarding the objectives). As the students did the group work, Mrs. Carbone foster noticing.
Time management: Time management is a very crucial component if you are willing to have a productive lifestyle. To be honest, I have always had issues with managing my time efficiently. This problem had become a huge obstacle once I got into college. Thus, attending a lecture that focuses on time management helped me a lot with this problem by introducing me to different aspects related to time management: planning, SMART goals, and important/urgent matrix. Learning to make a specific plan for my daily tasks and make a to-do list to make my day as productive as possible is something very helpful which was advised to me by the instructor of this lecture Mr. Irfan.
Critical Review 1. Teaching with Technology Simon Hooper and Lloyd P. Rieber We all know that technology refers to advancements in the methods and tools we use to learn.
I participated in several school meetings. After working with students in small groups, I evaluated my mini lesson for student improvement. My students were able to work independently, collaboratively, and utilize feedback from other peers. This taught me to reflect on advantages and disadvantaged of the lessons
