Since ancient times, full moons have been associated with odd or incomprehensible occurrences that can only be explained by the supernatural. These events have prompted countless experiments and endless research, but maybe such problem’s answers are simply out of this world. It has been reported that many people and animals that have contracted Lyme disease feel discomfort and the worsening of their symptoms during full moons. An answer as to why this occurs is beyond scientific understanding, but what if the answer is as simple as society 's location, or more so planet? If a moon base were to be created, then the bacteria that causes Lyme disease, Borrelia Burgdorferi, could be further researched, the base would help society learn how the bacteria …show more content…
The bacteria stated prior, Borrelia Burgdorferi, is the cause of the disease and the stem of the problem. The bacteria cannot survive alone for longer than a few hours so it finds a “host” to survive inside of (MD). The most common hosts are ticks, mice, and other small mammals (MD). The bacteria has a reproduction cycle of 28-30 days, almost identical to the moon cycle (TOL). The bacteria has been known to align itself with the moon cycle, causing its victims to have noticeably worsening symptoms during full moons cycle. Mammals that are infected by Lyme disease include dogs, horses, humans, cattle, and cats (CFSPH). The science behind this mysterious correlation has yet to be proven but many theories have been made supporting the ideas of electromagnetism and gravitational pull (TOL). To find the reasoning behind this all but coincidental occurrence between the two cycles, these theories must be tested on the moon. With the comparison of the disease on the earth and on the moon, society could learn more about how the bacteria is affected on the moon which would revolutionize society’s outlook on this very delicate …show more content…
These symptoms include a “high fever, swollen lymph nodes, lethargy, loss of appetite, and swelling of the joints”. The study itself will take four months without space travel time. The reason being four months is to ensure that accurate data will be taken and an adequate amount of time is supplied for data and research. Multiple dogs will need to be taken to the moon to compare the symptoms of different sized dogs and how that affects the study. Lyme disease is most popularly contracted during summer months, ranging during late May through early September (CFSPH). This would be the ideal time to conduct the study because symptoms will be most intense and significant during the early months of the disease. Although many other elements of the study will need to be taken into account, these suggestions are vital to the accuracy and likelihood of a successful
Rough Mountain spotted fever is a standout amongst the most generally known tick-borne sicknesses to influence pooches. It has a place with a class of illnesses known as Rickettsia; bar molded microorganisms that take after microbes, yet which act like infections, duplicating just inside living cells. Rickettsia rickettsii is the creature in charge of Rocky Mountain spotted fever lives parasitically in ticks and is transmitted by chomp to vertebrate hosts. Certain breeds will probably add to a serious response to the R. rickettsii life form than others; these incorporate thoroughbred pooches and German shepherds. The signs and indications of Rocky Mountain spotted fever change as per the kind of ailment the puppy has.
By understanding the connection between humans and the bacteria thanks to their knowledge of evolutionary history, they were able to replicate the effects of the disease in the bacteria. Research like this not only emphasizes the importance of evolutionary history, but it also has the potential to cure deadly diseases, like the one previously mentioned. Our biology class has studied cells as well, observing patterns through microscopes and identifying different parts of the cell, such as the nucleus and cell wall. Though we haven’t learned much about the mitochondria yet, the research discussed in this book has made me more curious about mitochondria and its role in the human
Early symptoms may not even be apparent to the primary care physicians unless they are directly assessed. This is a growing concern in terms of the escalating potential of
www.Reference.com My first piece of evident that I am Apollo is that I have the power to bring plagues like my father. On www.Reference.com, it states, “Apollo’s powers are listed as bringer of plagues and illnesses, medicine, and religious healing.” This passage shows that one of Apollo’s powers is to bring plague and illnesses. During the war games at Camp Half-Blood against Ares, somehow I manage to get the Ares team with a plague, and I don’t know how I did it.
The last one is the septicemia plague, it spreads through the bloodstream. It comes from infected fleas or infected
The Bubonic Plague, is a disease that is caused by Yersinia pestis. This bacteria is found in rodents, such as rats. Fleas feed on these rats, and it can be passed to humans through flea bites. The Bubonic Plague was first seen in China, yet it came to Europe in the year 1347 with the use of Genoise Ships. These ships would bring the contaminated rats across the Black Sea.
This specific bacteria attacks the lymph system causing the infection to spread throughout the body. The reservoirs of this bacteria and disease are mice, rats, squirrels and other small animals. A reservoir is a host of an infection. The vector, meaning carrier, is insects such as fleas and
Your dog may not show signs right away but signs can start to appear months after the dog has been infected of the disease. The highest risk seasons for Lyme disease is late spring and early fall. Lyme disease is an acute disease which means it's a short but rapid course. The incubation periods for showing clinical signs of being infected is two to five months after been bitten by the tick. Long incubation periods, can cause your dog to be on antibodies for a long period of time.
When the bubonic plague first arrived no-one knew what the cause was. The physicians at the time thought the plague was caused by “body fluids being out of balance” (Chapter Three: GREAT PLAGUES
Lyme disease Lyme disease is an infection transmitted by deer ticks and black-legged ticks. Individuals usually come in contact with this disease is in wooded or grassy areas that is very prominent in the united states and 60 other countries. It is estimated that in the united states there are more than 300,000 cases per year, but Lyme disease is a very hard infection to diagnose some cases are not accounted for. The symptoms of Lyme disease mimic many other diseases and that is why it can be misdiagnosed most of the time for fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s, ALS, alzheimers, or multiple sclerosis. Lyme disease can affect people of all ages but it is most common in people who spend extended periods of time outside or are in
One of the most common diseases transmitted by ticks is Lyme disease. The disease is found all over the United States and in over 60 countries all over the world. The deer tick as well as the black legged ticks are mostly found in grassy and wooded areas. Borrelia burgdorferi, a corkscrew-shaped bacterium, is the cause of Lyme disease, and can affect any organ in the body; the brain, the muscles, the heart, the joints, and even the nervous system. Since Lyme disease can resemble many other diseases such as; multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, as well as psychiatric illnesses, it is often misdiagnosed.

All businesses have to comply with The Health and Safety Executive (UK Government body) and complete Risk Assessments to ensure the safety of their staff and customers. A Risk Assessment looks at a normal day working activities and considers what could go wrong and encourages the employer to look at measures to protect the employee/customer and to have a plan of action should anything go wrong. These assessments are regularly revisited and updated as necessary. As a practice dealing with veterinary medication and equipment that can be hazardous to human health we also need to comply with the following boards; •
Myths About the Full Moon There is a common belief that the light of the full moon causes bad luck, strange occurrences, and odd behavior. Many believe that the full moon is responsible for unusual events; and, curiously, a large portion of the U.S. population also claims that the full moon promotes (or, in some cases, directly causes) people to act strangely (often referred to as the ‘lunar effect’). These strange, bizarre, and clearly baseless beliefs about the supposed ‘effects’ of the full moon are still widely accepted. One can’t help but ask: Why do people still believe in the ‘power’ of the full moon?
Main Body The Earth 's moon is the only moon that orbits around our planet, and there is no life on it, from what scientist has found. The word lunar derives from the Latin word lunaticus, which means to be moon-struck. This word, in turn, also is the derivation of the word lunatic which is used to describe a mentally ill person, or a person that is deranged or dangerous. So, with these definitions it is not hard to believe that there are people who believe in the lunar effect. The lunar effect is the belief that the moon 's phases have an effect on human behavior and mental health (The Lunar Effect,.
