What Causes: The Cause Of Global Warming

Over the past few years, there has been an immense rise in the atmospheric temperature. While most people consider it natural, I would like to think about it scientifically. What could be the possible reason for such high temperatures? After a lot of research, I found an answer to this underrated question. The cause of this global warming are none other than the humans themselves. Some people might say the actual cause of global warming are greenhouse gases and humans have nothing to do about it. They ignore this fact by arguing that it is a natural phenomena and will change over time like the different seasons but I don’t think that’s the case. Before going through serious discussions, let’s try to understand the various key terms I just mentioned.…show more content…
Then how is it different from global warming? In other words, global warming could be actually defined as an “enhanced greenhouse effect” because it is caused due to an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere(www.environment.gov/au). When the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases, the rate of the greenhouse effect also increases resulting in an increased trapping of heat causing an increase in the average temperature of the atmosphere. This problem is turning out to be a cause of concern because “the global average surface temperature rose 0.6 to 0.9 degrees Celsius (1.1 to 1.6° F) between 1906 and 2005, and the rate of temperature increase has nearly doubled in the last 50 years” as shown by a study at NASA(www.earthobservatory.nasa.gov). If this trend goes further, it could even result in the end of the world. But the actual problem is that only a minority is concerned about this problem which leads me into thinking that how we can solve this problem if no one’s concerned. My view on this issue (arguments) Like everyone, I don’t want to stand with the majority on this topic because it…show more content…
We might think that global warming is not going to affect our normal life in the near future. But we can’t deny what our eyes see. Most of the diseases and other environmental issues are directly or indirectly caused due to global warming. I would like to put forward my arguments based on this topic. Argument 1: Humans are mainly responsible for global warming. We all know that the Earth’s atmosphere is composed of a mixture of which in includes oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, greenhouse gases and so on. We already confirmed that global warming is caused due to excess amount of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. But where does this excess gas come from. At this point, my argument translates into a valid fact. “We’re the ones who burn fossil fuels and clear trees that absorb carbon dioxide, sending heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere” (www.edf.org/climate). Argument 2: Global warming can result in many other consequences rather than overheating the Earth’s atmosphere. Everyone thinks only about overheating of the Earth when we talk about global warming. No one cares about what happens to the environment due to the overheating. Here, once again my argument
