The Crusades were a large part of history and took place in 1050-1300 CE. The Crusades were a set of military expeditions that Christian Europe took against the peoples of the Near East for the holy land of Jerusalem through territories in modern Turkey and Syria. Jerusalem was a holy land for 3 Abrahamic faiths which were Islam, Christianity, and Judaism Every religion has significant buildings in the Holy Land in Jerusalem. The government during the Crusades changed a lot and made changes that affected the people. One of the biggest changes that had a huge effect was the way the government functioned. The Crusades and trade with the East brought an end to Europe's dying economy merchants in Europe acquired wealth and grew interested in protecting their trade routes. This also caused a rise in the tax rate which was not good for the people that could not pay and this caused more people to lose their jobs. When noble people died in the war their lands and other access would be taken and that made this way harder for their family that were now left with nothing. Also, lots of nobles sold their lands to fund their travels during the Crusades so they could pay Their unpaid workers. Another thing that happened was Technology of Islamic achievements was now known in the west and east Europe giving them more ideas. paper, water wheels, and better castle buildings were also brought back to Europe.
