Thinking back, I was crushed; I expected to be able to attend the college of choice for my friends. After reality set in, as being the sixth child out of seven and wearing hand me downs, I should have realized I could not go away for school. Afterward, I did end up attending a local community college and working while in school for several years. However, I then took a five-year break before returning to college to a changed career path to become a nurse. At this time, I was in my early thirties, when I received a nursing diploma and completed an associate 's degree.

Living with other American college students will permit me to learn first hand about the pros and cons of other American institutions of higher learning, which will help me select a graduate school for my MBA. The second Pro is being able to share the expericence of exploring Copenhagen and many other European countries with my DIS classmates, roommates and hallmates. This will help create lifelong connections. I appreciate the current comradeship I experience with my two college roommates and I 'm looking forward to expanding my social network. Perhaps the biggest Con of living in a DIS residential community, will be missing out on the opportunity to develop personal attachments with Danish students who can best teach me about Danish customs and culture.

In his Essay “Are too many people going to college,” first published in a 2008 issue of AEI, Charles Murray explores many insights onto the topic of furthering education as well as exploring various other options to pursue after high school. Who exactly would think that too many people are going to college? Well with more and more students flooding campuses at the end of every school year and less and less going into trade schools, a shift in the job market is just beginning to be seen on the horizon. Charles Murray’s essay “Are too many people going to college” shows that not only are there other avenues to pursue a potential life long career, but that much of the time pursuing these avenues may offer better results for some wanting to go to college. Throughout the essay, Charles Murray stresses the idea that college is the wonderland of finding oneself and to find the career that one would want to follow for the rest of their lives.

As you know, a college education is quite expensive, but it is an investment that is certainly worthwhile. I received a private scholarship from my high school as an incoming freshman, and am paying for the rest of my educational expenses with student loans and the money that I earn from my job. Receiving this scholarship will enable me to continue to make progress toward my degree in preparation for a career as a physical therapy. If selected for this scholarship, I will continue to apply the same diligence to my collegiate studies as I have to this point, making education and service to others my top priority. I will represent your organization well during my years in college and beyond.

Twenty-four hours divided regularly into three groups: sleeping, learning, and free-time for five days a week for eighteen more weeks then, I must manage all my time. With six weeks until I am eighteen years old, I have been preparing myself for life after high school for the past couple of years, in the real world of time management and responsibilities and to wash clothes and dishes, clean my room and car, cook meals and purchase groceries, and numerous other parts to becoming an adult. Adults also must handle the responsibilities to prepare for the future in their education, career, and family. It starts for me by further improving my education in college which starts with filling out college applications. This process has been a time consuming, and demanding, with countless questions to answer and several short essays and essay to write for thirteen colleges.

69% say it was very useful in helping them grow and mature as a person. 55% say it was very useful in helping them prepare for a job or career. While Americans value college, they value character even more. Asked what it takes for a young person to succeed in the world, 61% say a good work ethic is extremely important and 57% say the same about knowing how to get along with people. Just 42% say the same about a college education.

This summer I will be working and taking Accounting I at Tarrant Community College. I hope to travel the second part of summer to either Africa or Canada to visit family. Sophomore year I want to broaden my horizons and create stronger bonds than this year. I want to gain relevant work experience; landing an internship for a corporation or a hospital would be amazing. The second goal I want to set for the upcoming school year is to get closer with my Terry family, especially the new baby Terry’s.

For example, students need to attend law school for at least three years or it can take up to five years as a part time student (Bell-Rehwoldt 23). individuals need to first obtain a Juris Doctor or a J.D. degree in order to become a lawyer as well as additional training may be enforced to help further sharpen their skills and knowledge in law (Echaore-McDavid 27). It is important to do extra training because then obtaining this occupation would be easier since most people look for those who go above and beyond. Speaking of which, some students get additional degrees such as the Business Administration degree to help with certain aspects of law (Bell-Rehwoldt 24).
